Nearly 1,000 posts, who wants to help?
I had a very long day and night at work.
I just woke up, had a shower, put on clean jammies, made a fresh pot of coffee and am currently shaving.

I have demonstrated competencies in

Tantric massage (contact me, my rates are quite reasonable)
woodworking
construction
giggling inanely
Animal Welfare
(especially)
horse wrangling
Rottweiler convincing
guinea fowl corralling
chicken catching
irate owner defusing

I have a goal, everyone should have goals. I'd like to break 1,000 posts before 6:00 when I am meeting my GF.

4. I'm told that my sense of humour is
well, politely "unique" or impolitely "sick". I think I may be Matcom's love child, but my mother isn't talking.

The thing is that my mind wanders. I'll think of something, find it funny, and giggle. I should probably not do so, because people get offended when I giggle in meetings- they think it's directed at them.

I personally blame Satan. He makes these incongruous thoughts pop out of the dusty corners of my mind at inappropriate times.

8. Of course it's a word.
So is funnest. i.e. DU is funner than work. But the lounge is funnest. The defence rests, Your Honour.

5. No.
I do not find windows sufficiently attractive to be able to do them.

3. My usual help question is "what is your favorite color?"
but I see by your list of qualifications we have some overlap. Subjects we could banter over:

Animal welfare
Horse wrangling
Guinea fowl corraling
Chicken catching

and I have been known to giggle inanely at times as well.

7. I listed this stuff because as livestock specialist
for an animal welfare organization I am called to see some weird stuff, meet a lot of weird people and do some weird things. Those items listed are how I spent yesterday.

I like being able to tell people that it's not break and enter if I do it under a search warrant. I had a cop actually boost me high enough to pry open a window and wiggle into the bathroom.

Thank you for your concern for the animals' welfare, especially livestock.

17. Yes,
but she makes me uncomfortable. Although UPC is a decent group with a valid programme, Karen is a little too personally involved with the chickens.. Don't get me wrong, I like chickens, when circumstances permit I have about 12 in my yard.

The flame of her passion is something I find a little much. Perhaps it's my guilt?? Dunno.

24. LOL....about Karen,
you're right, but she's a very compassionate woman, and very brave to keep her sanctuary so close to Tyson!

I'm not zoned to rescue livestock, but do appreciate that they're the most abused of the animals (and that can't be too healthy for humans either?), but I do like to support welfare programs and small farmers. Do you have a favorite welfare organization you would recommend contributing too? There are so many, and mostly are in the business of, well, fundraising!

25. Concentrate on those that do front-line work
The groups that primarily do lobbying are those who do the fundraising and seem to have no cashflow problems. Your local SPCA or Humane Society, one that enforces law rather than takes positions, is usually operating on a shoe string.

For exampke, I am technical backup for about 250 investigators. I should really be about 8 people.

Think globally, act locally.

9. I'm almost to 1000 also.
I tried to get there last night but I was too tired from eating turkey and had to go to sleep.

Maybe we can get there together? Maybe at the same time?

Edited on Fri Nov-26-04 02:55 PM by achtung_circus
"simultaneous" breaking of "the barrier" I've read about it, it's supposedly the most moving moment in posting, but I've never experienced it myself. However, I'm game (so she shot me) . It may take some fiddling as you are about 10 posts further advanced than I.

You rest, I'll continue to build.

EDIT: proof that spelling is not a demonstrated competency.

changed the colour to red, cut it from Word and pasted into my profile. I subcontract most computer stuff to my programmer brother.
