Is it ok for a white person to use this term to describe people like Clarence "Uncle Tom"as? I was just wondering...

I am not black. I don't understand the experiences that go with growing up and being black in America. Hence, I leave such language to persons who do.
This is my personal opinion on the matter; nothing more.

4. I think it's too good a word for people like Clarence Thomas. |
|
Someone with a strong literature background can explain it better than I can. But basically, Uncle Tom was not the person he was for personal enrichment, and certainly not at the expense of his people. The way he went about adapting may be painful for today's world, but he was not what I would call a classic sell-out. Clarence Thomas, is that. A classic sell-out.

Powell, Rice, Thoman, Blackwell and those that have no problem with black voting disenfranchisement Uncle Toms.
Fuck'um! I love and respect black people as a whole more than they could ever dream.
