Other Tactics for 15-year-olds and Parents
I was listening to loud music yesterday, too, as it happens, but not with any windows open. My 15-year-old came home from snowboarding before the rockin' mix I had going was over. Dinner wasn't quite done yet, either, so he sat on the couch and stared at me, hoping it would bug me enough to turn the music off so he could turn on the TV. So I sat on the opposite couch and sang to him. Did you know you can do a really cute couch dance to Suicide Blonde?

And when he tells me what to do, as he often does lately, I say, "Thanks, Dad." He hates that for some reason, and it always gets him off my back.

Just a couple of my time-tested, pay-your-dad-back-by-proxy, shoo-away-the-chickens-coming-home-to-roost parenting techniques.

1. Hey, I like "Suicide Blonde."
:)

The last time I played music REALLY loudly was upstairs in our bonus room over the garage. I will admit, to my chagrin, that I was listening to "What's My Age Again." (Although that seems oddly appropriate for the subject matter of this thread.)

My daughter, a senior in high school, came home, caught me in the act, and joined me in bouncy dancing all over the bonus room singing along to the song.

2. I'm not familiar with What's My Age Again
It sounds like something I could use. Band?

4. I have a 13-year-old
We just have poking and hand-slapping fights. And then I say, "Stop touching me!" And he says "Wookies don't live on Endor!" We're more like Lisa and Bart than mother and son. Keeps me young.
