I had a decorating epiphany today! |
|
It's just my dad and I living in our house and most of the time I am away at school so we don't get a ton of visitors. We rarely entertain and never have the rest of the family over for holidays or anything. Plus we have one of those living rooms that has space allocated for a dining room area. With that said, we have absolutely no use for our dining room table, all it does is collect bills and dust plus we have a kitchen table that seats 6. I proposed that we get rid of that stupid table and buy a pool table. Since we would do that we should also knock out the top half of the wall that separates the kitchen from the dining "room" and turn that area into a bar. That way our house will have a nice open flow, a kickass bar and pool table. We could eat meals at the bar because there are only two of us and we would have a frickin pool table. How god damn cool would that be?!?
We have some things that we have been wanting to sell on e-bay, but had no real motivation to sell. Now is the perfect opportunity for it. Get about 1,000 bucks for the thing we are selling plus the dining room table and we are half way there. I'm still trying to warm him up to the idea but I think he will cave eventually.

1. Sounds like a darned good idea! |
|
You're following a good rule - get rid of what you don't need.

7. I loves me some martinis... |
|
I have a whole cabinet of cool martini glasses that I have gotten as gifts. Some are works of art and it's a shame that they are hidden away in a kitchen cabinet

I also have a living/dining room combo. Pointless, if you ask me. Do something fun with it! :)

5. Sounds like a plan, Smitty |

What the hell do two guys need with a dining room table anyway? And a bar would be excellent for two single guys.

we used to have family over but once they all had kids, my house became a no fun zone because there was only one TV downstairs and I'd be damned to let toddlers run around in my room un-supervised just to watch a Barney tape. So now there is not much use for it at all

12. I'm saving to do the exact same thing - |
|
but to maintain some flexiblitiy I want a pool table that comes with a cover and can still be used as a dining table.
