how to upload an avatar from a picture I have on my hard drive? I'd appreciate whatever help anyone could give.

1. Go to the 'Latest' page

Select the 'Options' link.

Select 'Profile' on that page.

There's an option for 'select avatar or upload one of your own.'

It will tell you what the requirements for your avatar are -- there are size restrictions -- actual size, file size and file type -- and you have to meet those restrictions or the image won't upload.

go to options ( at the top of screen) Edit profile and then scroll down to Avatar. You have a choice to use one provided or one from your hard drive .. just browse what you have ..
