Who else is going to "Underworld" this weekend?
Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 12:12 PM by DarkPhenyx
I figure it's going to be decent fun, if prehaps a bit mindless. Since none of my friends seem interested in it I'll go by myself. Might even wear my black and leather. Could be fun.

1. My wife..

said as she was reading the reviews:
"Gee... a lot of reviewers are panning Underworld.... are you SURE you want to go to this thing?"

My reply?

"Dear, it's a movie about a war between vampires and werewolves.... you were expecting Shakespeare?... of COURSE it's going to be bad. All the more reason to go see it!"

2. Flawless logic.
I like the way you think. I'm one of those people who often says "Well, it wasn't "Gone With the Wind...and this is a good thing".

I usually figure that if the critics panned it there's a good chince I'll love it.

3. Tanx!
I like the way you think. *blush*... Thanx!

I'm hoping this movie is going to be a cross between The Matrix and Blade perhaps with a little dash of The Hunger and/or Interview With a Vampire thrown in for good measure

5. No way
For the simple fact that I can no longer illegally pirate music from the group Underworld with the carefree ease I used to. I now have to actually pay attention, gods forbid, to make sure it's not something from the movie, i.e. trailer, soundtrack, etc. AND might I add, they didn't even have the good sense to USE Underworld for the Underworld sountrack!! :eyes:

Totally cramping my style, lemme tell ya. ;)

6. Been there. Done that. Loved it.
(Please don't remind me that I'm crazy; I think of myself at 'originality inclined')

9. When I can own it in a month for less than a trip for two to the theatre?
I have a better sound system than most theatres, a 55 inch screen, I can pause it for popcorn that does not cost $7.00 a tub...

Or you could download the screener from Kazaa and see a poor quality version b4 it even hits the screen.

I will get it when it comes out on DVD. Sounds FUN!

11. I'm going in 2 hours
The plot looks fantastic and Kate Beckinsale....mmmm drool. But I am afraid Hollywood is going to take a good idea and turn out a pile of pig excrement

12. I'll see it eventually
But I'm sorta torn on it. It seems that big parts of the story might be ripped entirely from White Wolf's "World of Darkness" and Nancy Collins' Sonja Blue books--and both the company and Collins are suing the makers of the film.

If WW and Collins' claims are true, I'd hate to be supporting plagiarists.

But it IS a goth horror/action film...and there aren't enough of those imo.

(Waiting for "Hellboy" over here! :-) )
