Anybody seen the movie "Head of State"? |
|
Aside from being a hilarious Chris Rock movie, it hits REALLY close to home these days. I'm sure this movie has been brought up before in these forums. It has to have... It's just too appropriate. Sure it's a bit unrealistic, but damn if it isn't smart. I hope the Dems watch this movie. A lot.
If nothing else, it magnifies the need for true consumer-type advertising and the need to intensely relate to the average joe. Hell, by the end of it, it has me believing that the movie isn't so unrealistic, just unlikely that today's politicians would take such honest leap-of-faith risks.
Anyone else seen this movie? If you haven't I highly recommend it. Even if you disagree with its political value, it's still a funny movie, so it won't be a total loss... :)

I felt like you. I don't know if that's being realistic or not, but I would like a candidate to be honest, open, and real. For lurking freepers, I'm not talking about Bush "real." I'm talking really real.
I enjoyed the debate, during which Chris Rock said something like "I know what it's like to be an American. I've been hungry. I've been ripped off. I've been high."
