ooh baby...The NHL season starts soon.....
And AWAAAAAYYYY we go!

THis is gonna be a hell of a LAST season. Anyway..I say the Canucks will have a shit year. Only because Burke hasn't padded up the team the way many in his division have. So while the Canucks are a good team, they will be toppled by the others that are loaded with superstars this year. Any other Vancouver Canuck fans out there?

What's your team and how do you think they'll fair this year?

1. NY Rangers
They'll miss the leadership of Messier. I don't think they'll make the Playoffs without Mike Richter.

22. No kidding
I'm a Rangers fan, Reds fan and Bengals fan. The Rangers have the highest payroll in the league and they never produce any wins. The Reds trade away their best players so they can save money. The Bengals Always spend well below the cap and have shity seasons all the time. To Quote Cheech and Chong "it's tough all over".

3. Penguins fan here,
Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 03:19 PM by Girlfriday
and I'm not expecting much. I defy anyone to name more than four players they know. They have a new T.V. ad and everyone who sees it says "who are those guys?". I do like that they named Eddie Olchek (?) as coach; he used to coach from the booth when he was calling the games, hilarious (oops)......now he's legit. I don't think they'll make the play-offs this year.

13. My little sister is a HUGE Pens fan
and it has been rough. They need money and to stop selling off their best players. Not even Super Mario can save them anymore

21. Poor girl....
did she become a fan because of Lemieux or Yaromir? I find that is why most girls started to watch the pens, or is she just a glutton for punishment?

I totally agree with your assessment: no money = lousy team.

26. Lemieux
She wants to marry him or his son. She loves so many of their players but they keep trading away her favorites. She got bitter over Jaromir going bye bye and now dislikes him a lot.

On top of that she's a Sabres fan...maybe she is a glutton for punishment

7. My team..thats complicated...
I have tremendous affection for many teams:
Toronto because I started diggin hockey when they had Andreychuk, Clark and Gilmore.

Edmonton because I consider the 80s Oilers when of the great teams in professional sports history and that still carries over plus I like their style of play.

San Jose is the local team but they are beginning to run themselves like the Golden State Warriors.

I like the Avalanche because I know Marty Lacroix a little bit and because they have good balance.

I would have to say if I could be at any Cup Final I would want it to be the Sharks but what would I do with all the monkeys flying out of my ass?

10. The Ducks had
1)an existing star player
2) a hot young goalie (we may have one too)
3)made ALL the right veteran pick ups (we have Adam Graves..an appropriate last name)

IF Marleau breaks out and the young d shapes up it could be good year. I would feel better if Buchberger or somone were on the team.

11. After a very humbling year last year
I hope my team can get their heads out of their asses and live up to the hype instead of being afraid of it. We lost a lot of people and i hate both our goalies (well not last year's starter, but he chokes in big games).

If you can't figure it out you're not paying attention

Ashamed after last season. I'm not a bandwagoner. I've loved them since before I could walk and talk watching their farm team in Glens Falls, NY.

Though i do like the Leafs (sans the thugs).

16. Waaaaa for the lack of "Roy"...
Avalanche fans are known to be Roy haters, but I think he was freakin awesome. I'll miss his nearly flawless goalkeeping. Hope the Avs can cope without him.

Still wondering if I should get cable again so I can watch the games. I might have to.
