OK, so I was sleeping... and I had a thirst for CLEANING
Ugh....... I can't believe this.

I was sleeping safe and sound for like two hours in my bed. Now, my room isn't that bad, but most Americans would consider it "messy" at best. It's just my nature (and nature in general - chaos theory in practice!)

So I woke up 15 minutes ago and without thinking, started cleaning up my room. I've done this so far:

1. Cleared the room of the ~15,000 empty pop (soooh-daaaaaah for you East Coasters) cans that occupy any horizontal plane available in my bedroom.

2. Assembled all dirty laundry into a pile in a laundry basket.

3. I've just started clearing my bed and desk of miscellaneous papers, trinkets, and junk.

I hate to ask this question, because I fear that I already know the answer to it... but would this be considered ............... "normal" by eental health professionals? It's the first time this has happened to me (right now my head feels like a weird lucid dreamish type thing)

1. Oh sure. That's normal.
It's called Sleep Cleaning. And don't try to wake yourself up. You might go crazy or something.

15K pop cans, eh? I thought no one on earth drank more pop than my household. Bravo :)

2. My guess is that you are feeling impotent in the Macro
and making up for it in the Micro.

5. Dear St. I would have replied this morning
but my e-mac keyboard was drenched w/ water from a cup I was using last night. I suspect a cat, and I think I know which one. I think the keyboard is toast. I'm on my old PC now.

Q - "What the f*ck are you talking about"

A - When one feels impotent in the Macro I mean that which one cannot change directly ie: political leaders, global issues, macro-economics.

The inability to make a direct effect on the macro leads many to feelings of impotence, or weakness.

The Micro is that which we DO have some control over - personal finances, friends, living arrangements.....

Many people feel the need to 'over-control' the micro to make up for impotence in the macro.

Some try to control others, some look at the checkbook 3 times a week, some clean... You are a cleaner (unless you have a lurking O/C issue!).
