Bought a ticket to see REM tonight
I haven't really been that interested in their music since "Monster," but I read in the paper that they are touring in support of a greatest hits album, which leads me to believe they'll be journeying back in time a bit. I'd love to hear something off of "Murmur" or "Life's Rich Pageants" or "Document." Well, here's hoping.

They were the first real rock concert I can remember going to. It was in 1996 at age 13. Great show. Radiohead opened (!) and played "The Bends" in its entirety. R.E.M. were fun and loud and really impressive.

1. Good for you, wish I was going.
Thom Yorke of Radiohead is good friends with Michael Stipe and has asked his advice about how to deal with fame. Thom has had lots of trouble trying to maintain sanity and a conscience while being constantly watched and photographed.

7. Well, that isn't too bad...
I paid $70 to go to the coachella festival this past summer. However, I did get to see The White Stripes, Primal Scream, Sonic Youth and Iggy & The Stooges.

9. I remember when REM said they would definitely break up in 2000.
And after hearing everything they have done since Bill Berry left, I really wish they had. Who would have thought the drummer would have made such an impact in that band??

I wish they could get Bill back for one last tour and then call it quits.
