My phone rings for both the old main line that feeds into mine, and also my direct line.

if you need help don't hesitate to seek it. It is probably nothing but one can't be too careful. A friend of mine received a sign filled with hate on her car just last week. She also told me she had been getting calls with no one answering. The incredible part is that the sign was put on her car while she was grocery shopping. That is scary since it probably means someone is stalking her. Now I am not trying to frighten you just asking you to be careful and if this continues not take it lightly and ignore it. Okay?

There are people I wish to speak to who may not be able to get through due to this nonsense.
I am very upset.

I warned my neighbors that I was gonna blast a (known) caller who kept doing that.
Now days, it is likely just a computer generated call for telemarketing. They have computers which will dial several #s then put human through to whoever answers first, leaving all the others to answer a phantom call. Annoying.
Hey, did you read about what Congress is planning to do with the "No Call List" people? They are talking about changing it so those who went on the no-call list can be called by machines which will leave messages for you. No actual person will call. So, the BIG argument telemarketing firms used against the no-call list, that it would cost people jobs, was really funny, since they were going to automated calling anyway...

7. Someone may be accidentally faxing you. |
|
If the machine they're using is a dedicated fax, it could call out a dozen times before giving up.

22. Yeah I'm used to three or four |
|
But not all the same way... like some will stay on the line a few seconds, and some will hang up before I even get the receiver to my ear.
These were all exactly alike... all waited until I had said my, "good afternoon, 'placewhereIwork'" greeting before hanging up. And they were all together. UGH!

expecting to reach someone different--a different gender or a business versus a residence or whatever
or they realized they can't pronoune your name and get flustered and hang up.

Tap the side of your phone. Then say quite audibly: "Officer, this is the call I want you to trace."
I bet it doesn't happen again.
