DU ladies, can we talk?
What is up with the Brazilian wax? Has anyone ever done that? Just how excruciating is it? How often does it need to be re-done? How embarrassed were you? I'm curious about why someone would put themselves through it, but whatever floats your boat, right?

I really don't want this to be locked as a sex thread, so can we keep it sorta clinical?

the brazilian hurts like hell. I had one once and, though I'm used of being waxed, I thought I was going to die. If a man ever asked me to do that, he would have to get his balls waxed first.

13. i do it all the time
it's not that painful if it's done well. How often it needs to be redone is up to you. If you are determined to keep yourself as smooth as a baby 24/7, you'll be rewaxing every couple of weeks until your hair growth cycle catches up with your beauty routine.

Otherwise an occasional every 6 weeks makes most people happy. It's not really that embarassing considering that anybody who's waxing you waxes lots of girls daily.

I did it for the heck of it once, my partner really enjoyed it, it takes oral sex to a new level so i really enjoyed it. the rest is history

THAT is the key. I had one which was straight from hell, being as the administrator didn't so much...ummm...*hold* certain areas before lettin' it rip. :wow:

IMO, like anything else, it gets less and less painful with practice. ;)

15. Personally...

....I haven't has it done. I gave birth to two babies without any drugs at all. I don't have the guts to do this...I'd rather give birth.

However, my sister had it done she said it was no big deal....a good friend had it done and had to come home "commando". She was in so much pain she couldn't put on her underwear...good thing she was wearing a skirt.

Cheers,
Kim :toast:

23. Not the heavy duty Brazilian.
But yeah, been waxed in part anyway. It was less embarrassing than your standard pap test. However, things grow too fast though for me and in about 10 days, it renders useless. Kind of not worth it considering that there is some discomfort involved. I'd do it for a "special" occasion maybe, but on a regular basis, I'd too stick with the Venus. :D

27. It's a pretty decent triple blade razor.
It has lubricating strips on the blade and if properly moisturizing is in place, it seems to work fairly well for smoothless with little irritation.

Unfortunately it's made by Gilette (animal testing) but I make an exception in this ONE case because it's, by far, the single best razor I've ever used.

30. Use a dipilitory
Much less painful. Pain scale of hot wax on bikini area, not to mention the ripping of large clumps of hair, is pretty much up near the 10/10 end of the scale. I did it once, not a Brazilian, just a bikini wax... NEVER AGAIN! Why did I do it? I was at a spa, it was part of a package. Embarrassed? No, the technician was female. I have NO idea why anyone would repeatedly choose hot wax over nice cool cream.

I've tried a few and have had bad reactions. I wish I could find one that did not irritate me; I'd much rather use a dipilitory than wax or shave.

I'm afraid to try them unless I have a recommendation.

I have very sensitive skin- a wax is pretty much out of the question for me. When I used to wax the - uh - upper lip I had a rash for days.

Love this thread. I was thinking of suggesting a women's DU group so we could discuss stuff like this!

Depilatories leave my skin raw, but I've never had a problem with wax. I haven't gone all the way Brazilian but I wax myself and it doesn't hurt.

It's all just so spine-chilling.

I found one that works very well for me. It covers well and doesn't sting. I buy as much of it as I can afford when I find it.
