6. Italian Greyhound
Italian Greyhound
A Sweet Disposition.

The Italian Greyhound is the smallest of the
family of gazehounds (dogs that hunt by sight). It is
believed to have originated more than 2000 years ago in
the Mediterranean basin somewhere, perhaps, Greece,
Turkey or Egypt. It was often favored by royalty.

Teeming with affection, Italian Greyhounds thrive
and are happiest when this affection is returned. They
are greatly sensitive, alert, intelligent, playful far beyond
puppyhood and very adaptable to most households, friendly
towards children and other pets. Its odorless, short, satiny,
soft coat sheds little and only needs grooming once a week.
An Italian Greyhound is a classy looking companion. For
your family, consider an Italian Greyhound puppy, but be
sure your children are well discplined because they
are a small dog breed with delicate bones.

Size: 13 - 15 in. (33 - 38 cm) at withers.
Weight: 7 - 14 lb. (3.2 - 6.4 kg).
Affection: Very affectionate.
With Other Pets: Very good.
Watchdog: Good.
Life Expectancy: 12 - 15 years.

Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 06:17 PM by lionesspriyanka
Description: The Lowchen or Little Lion Dog is a member of the Bichon group. He has a long, silky coat trimmed in the traditional "lion clip". A spunky, high spirited dog he is also happy to just curl up in your lap. Originally used in France as a watch dog, he is gaining international popularity. Not considered a rare breed, he is still uncommon.

41. Shiba Inu

Origins:
Japan....Means "little dog" in the Nagano dialect....

Personality:
Affectionate with family and friends this dog is happiest in a domestic environment, but will rise to the hunt. Amongst strangers, it can be aloof, sensitive, and hard to please.

I'd go with that. :D

I TESTED the test! I deliberately put in the exact same answers except for the gender part and got a totally different breed. If you answer "female" you get a lap dog at the end. How insulting to women, I thought.

102. A swedish lapland spitz:
Native Country: Finland

Breed Description:

History

Originating in Finland, the Swedish Lapphund may be descended from the arctic wolf and the 7,000-year old Varanger Dog, which was discovered in northern Norway. If this is true, the Swedish Lapphund may be the common ancestor of all spitz dogs. The Lapphund has always been used to guard livestock and pull sleds. The breed has been popular in Switzerland for centuries but was not recognized by the FCI until 1944.

Behavior

This hardy, alert, calm dog has remarkable courage. He is very loyal to his owner and has found his place as an affectionate pet. Suspicious of strangers, this guard dog is always on the alert. Firm training is needed.

Advice

The Swedish Spitz needs a lot of exercise and room to run. Regular brushing and combing is required.

Function

Herder. Utility dog: army security dog. Guard dog. Pet.

111. I refuse to believe my dog type.
I fear I was relegated to small dog by my human size. This is just wrong--it should be the size of one's spirit that counts towards what dog you are. There is no way I'm a yippie lap dog. I am much more a St. Bernard, or--in my more airhead moment--an Irish Setter. I refuse to even admit to the breed they classified me as.
