keeping track of the artists/performers who oppose Bush*
Now this is getting ridiculous! I am starting to lose track of how many people in the artistic community have said, in public, that they oppose the Misadministration -- not just that, but the sheer variety of people is what's truly wonderful. So it's no big surprise that "serious" cultural heavyweights like Gore Vidal or Richard Serra are concerned about the way things are going -- or that a political show like "The West Wing" would have most of the cast donating and even campaigning for the Dems -- but when you've got the Dixie Chicks, Linda Ronstadt, and the heavy metal band GWAR all weighing in against Bush ...

Anybody else add to the list?

p.s. GWAR played in my town last week -- I didn't see the show, but apparently one of the highlights features a character dressed up like Bush, handing a bomb to another character who looks like Bin Laden -- and "Bush" subsequently has his entrails ripped out and eaten by aliens onstage! Bizarre.

pic of "Bush" immediately before evisceration ...

2. another one
is Sam Waterston, who went to Cooper Union to read the Constitution during the RNC. There were other celebs there, as well as Robert Byrd.

8. Michael J. Fox? Now that's funny
considering what his second-most widely known (now) role was . . . after Marty McFly . . .

7. Dixie Chicks
Remember all that hoopla? They're a pretty solid group, too.

Just got Green Day's "American Idiot." Now that's an album!
