Vegans versus Cajun neighbors.

So I'm watching this nutty show on t.v. (On Fox, it came on after the Simpsons) And it had to do with wife swapping, sort of. The mother of one house goes to another house and vice-versa.

After fifteen minutes, I'm rooting for the Cajuna alligator meat eaters! Bring on the Gumbo! The Vegan is coming across like a know it all, pushing her agenda and inflicting herself on everyone. The Gumbo lady is soft and earthy, respectful in ways that the Vegan would never understand.

That does reflect my experiences with the Green party. We had a group come together to discuss how we could fight the good ole boys of our county and the group fell apart when the Vegan (Green) walked out on the good ole boy who had just admitted he had shot, killed and eaten Bambi.

Can't we just all get along?

4. To me, there is a difference

Between people who are vegetarian for health, environmental, or personal compassionate reason, and people who are religiously vegetarian.

The difference is that the second type feels the need to convert everyone they encounter, and are clearly on ego trips. I find them as hard to tolerate as people who feel they must get me to accept Jesus (or Set) as my personal savior.

The other type of vegetarians are great company, I find.

I couldn't believe it when the vegan mother kept insisting the right way to spell "monkeys" was with an "ies." The poor kid was right. I also laughed when the vegan mother started smoking a cigarette, and she tried a piece of alligator meat. Can we say hypocrite?

I do agree with the vegan mother that the cajun kid needed some discipline, but not to the extent. I thought it was great how the cajun mother tried to make a vegan gumbo, and I thought it was dumb of the vegan people to start attacking what she did for a living, considering that she'd just made them all a vegan gumbo.

In all reality, the cajun family probably are Bush voters, and the vegan family is probably Nader voters. I like the cajun family better than the vegan family because they're actually more respectful, and they put up with the vegan mother's crap way more than I ever would have.

animal rights video. That's so lame. You can't change people's minds like that. They have to want to change their minds in order for the change to take place. Those people were not completely ready for it at all. Perhaps it's an example of how we approach Bush voters. Alienating them through regionalism and redneck prejudices are not going to help us reach them in terms of politics.

First off, she drives an SUV, ate alligator, said that eating reptiles was fine because they weren't mammals (??). She HIT a dog and roughed him up around his neck. When I see things like that, it makes me think people are vegan just so they can be in a "me too" group. Nobody that concerned about animal rights would treat a dog like that. Not to mention she's just incredibly obnoxious.

They actually try to tell people that wolves and other predators ARE actually vegan in the wild and that any movies to the contrary (or evidence of your own eyes) has been set up with animals that have been deliberately starved so they'll eat anything.

17. wow, what an attitude! actually, I have encountered the opposite,

when eating with others I am nervous about the moment they find out I am vegan b/c they inevitably start this defensive tirade about how bad veganism is and meat is wonderful and all I did was ask the waiter if the soup had dairy. I am always quietly announcing my food lifestyle (out of necessity-"what you don't want to try one of my famous BBQ ribs!?") I never have lectured anyone on why my food choices are better than theirs, but 99% of the time meateaters jump all over me defending something they imagine I am thinking.

Just ask Tavalon, when she asked me the other day what kind of food I like when her boyfriend was going to the store, I stuttered and stumbled then hesitantly, apologetically said that I was vegan but don't want to be any trouble, just some plain rice or an apple is great, plus I'm allergic to soy so I feel like a leper sometimes like I'm purposely trying to stir things up. I know there are some self-righteous people who lecture others on their food choices, but IT COMES FROM MEAT AND VEGHEADS ALIKE!

We were rootin' for the Cajuns right away because shes from Lousiana, but I really started digging on them because of that kid! Man he was funnay as hell...

When we were watching it though we brought up the fact that we know vegans like that women. I did a vegan diet for a while along with live food, fruitarian and vegetarian. I finally settled back into a sensible meat eating diet.. I get most of my meat from friends with livestock and hunters these days. Whats weird is that almost all of my hunting friends are mod dems to very liberal. I laugh my ass off when I see a neocon or freeper talking the we got all guns shit.. no you dont buddy, liberals hunt as well. I guess they should have believed what they saw with Kerry in camo.

48. I've drifted off and on

from being a vegetarian. I've known people that try to push their diet beliefs on others and I've found those people (both vegetarians and non vegetarians) to be annoying.

Why do people care so much if others eat meat or not? To me it makes no sense at all.
