Anyone up for a philosophy group? |
|
I'm a philosophy major and I think that propositional knowledge and procedural knowledge are the same thing. Wanna fight about it? I do!
There are already plenty of religion forums, but nowhere for people to discuss, say, utilitarianism or functionalism or solipsism or all those other fun little bits of philosophical miscellany that end in ism. Doesn't anybody else long for a forum where faux-intellectualism and unrepentant pretentiousness are the rule, where materialists and idealists clash, then team up to pick on Cartesian substance dualists, and where no one ever has to apologize for using the word "paradigm?"

1. Consequentialism, Kant's groundwork for the metaphysics of morals... |

Wow, this is totally sounding like my philosophy class. But I like the idea of having a philosophy group, the politcal discussions that could result from it would be very enlightening.

Can't see the difference between the two. My bad, perhaps..but mental masturbation has never really been my bag.
