Computer gurus: What is Runtime C+++?
I have always used Explorer as my browser. One of my main things was accessing my work e-mail through the internet using explorer and accessing my companies web site to read and send e-mails from my in-box. Been doing this no problem on this computer for about a year.

A month or two ago using explorer I got one of those ridiculous spyware/pop up bursts that just wreaked havoc on Explorer. So I switched to Mozilla Firefox. I cleaned up the computer using Adaware, Search and Destroy, etc. and it seems to have done the trick.

Now here's the rub: For some reason using Mozilla Firefox, I can open an e-mail from my work in-box, but I cannot hit "reply". It just closes the window and won't let me reply to the e-mail.

And even though I cleaned up explorer and it works fine otherwise, when I go on my work e-mail site, I can view the contents of my inbox but when I go to open an e-mail I get a "Runtime C+++++ error" that closes explorer. This is the only time I get this.

Could it have something to do with javascript since my work e-mail site seems to utilize that? Is Runtime C+++ something I need or is it useless and just causing me trouble?

Any advice from anyone?

1. Sounds like a pop-up blocker is interfering.
In Firefox, be sure to allow pop-ups from your webmail server.

If you've installed a blocker in IE, do the same.

2. Wow! Allowing pop ups in Firefox worked! Thanks so much...
I just wish I could limit it to that site since I don't want to get spyware or pop ups. I can always shut it off when not at my work site.

Thanks a bunch!

3. You *can* limit it to just that site
you can tell Firefox to disallow all popups except those from certain sites that you select yourself.

5. You forgot to tell him how...
In Mozilla, it's Tools->Options->Web Features
Make sure the Block Popup Sites is checked, but then
press the Allowed Sites button and put in the
address of the website.

For blocking banners, I'd really recommend clicking on this installation script. It installs adblock. (The first time you click on the above link, Mozilla will bring up a little banner saying it blocked a script - click on the banner, allow downloads.mozdev.org to install the script, then click on the link again.) After you install adblock (and restart Mozilla - not the entire machine, just the browser), you can right-click on any banner or ad, and adblock will block it.

6. Actually it's not working but that's probably because...
For me to get to my inbox is a 3-fold process from the main site. So it's not working to have it block my exact inbox location.

But again, that's fine. At least I do know how to do it now.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.
