Had freaky dreams?
ALL my dreams are extremely freaky. I dream in black & white sometimes, and usually can smell things (example: if I dream about fried chicken, I can smell fried chicken).

Here are three dreams I posted yesterday in a thread about vegetarianism, and one I have not yet shared.

1. Happy-looking, -sounding chickens roosting on a huge thing -- like a super-long telephone pole with rods sticking out of either side. The chickens roosted on those rods. Scores of chickens, roosting, they're happy, sitting there having a hen party, but they don't know that they're descending. There's a crane above and it's dipping them live into a huge vat of boiling oil.

2. Giant chickens with their beaks brutally hacked off, chasing me with these bloody beakless mouths.

3. The scene is a restaurant. Diners on the patio enjoy the company of tame, friendly doves perched on small stands at the tables' edges. Also on the tables are small hibachis, which is where the doves go, live, when a diner is ready for another bite or two.

And the dream not posted yesterday:

I dreamed I was picking my nose, and I pulled out first a pretzel and then a pickle.

Your turn!

24. Cool. Thanks....
My sister is into dream interpretation. When I told her this one all she could say was, "dude, I think you need to be a vegetarian." :bounce:

11. mine is really dark and ominous:
i awakened in the middle of the night, full moon shining on my bed. i went outside and was compelled to go into the naked tree forest where i found 30 or so wolves suckling the iraqi babies with those horrific birth defects from the depleted uranium.
(this was the day after wolf hunting permits were issued in alaska to protect the caribou)

12. My dreams are always in color, usually fun, but
last night was a freak show! I'll spare you the details. *whew*

Once years ago, I had an interrupted dream that I wished to finish. The following night I dreamed the exact same thing. But the NEXT night after that I got to finish it.

I have many recurring dreams. Reruns, phooey!

13. Dream in a dream
Last Monday night I had disturbing dreams for about three hours. I would wake up from one dream into another dream, that was a dream of me sleeping in an apartment that got closer to mine with each iteration. In the last iteration, I woke into this dream, and was dreaming that I was in my right bed in the right place. Someone was knocking on the door, and I got up to see who it was. I knew it was a dream when there was a chain on the door, and I don't have one in my real apartment. Then, the door started to unlock on its own, and I couldn't stop it.

A dark haired, brown eyed man was standing in the hallway. He wouldn't leave, but he wouldn't come in, either. He said his name was Juan, and he offered me a deck of Tarot cards wrapped in black silk. He said I should take them, because it would "unlock what's downstairs". I told him no thanks, I really would rather leave that locked, and woke up for real.

19. Wow, that is creepy!
It sounds like it was a message from your subconscious trying to push through.

I have a lot of dreams about houses, apartments, rooms and I have heard that those kinds of dreams usually reflect what is in your psyche.

26. Uh oh. I dream about buildings, offices, and rooms too.
Used to be a lot more frequently than now, but I dream about underground rooms and complexes of rooms. In these dreams, there are storage rooms, places to sleep, corridors, sometimes shops and such things, and the whole place connects to a subway system. Some parts of it (with the shops) are green tiled and look like an underground and antique version of a mall, a little like Pike Place Market in style. Other parts are concrete (with the store rooms) and much more spartan. I have dreams about offices too, and sometimes houses. I don't think I like what that says about my psyche. Maybe that's why I didn't want Juan's tarot deck ;-)

14. I have adventure dreams
My dreams are like long weird Indiana Jones movies. Usually there are a bunch of people in them that I know but who couldn't know each other, some of whom aren't even still alive. Usually we are all running around trying to save someone, or kill someone, or running into weird creatures, or frantically trying to get somewhere or get away from someone.

I've had dreams with giant alien chickens in them too though. What archetype do you think that is?

15. I've been having some freaky-ass nightmares....
In one of them I was caught in my own house in a gangfight. Bullets flying everywhere, blood all over everything, dead guys...I'm glad our brains don't let us die in our dreams.

16. Maybe YOURS doesn't
But I have died in my dreams many, many times--dreamed the whole death process, had dreams where I was "already dead" and so on.

17. Those are scary and remind me of my "stress" dreams
When I feel like my life's out of control I'll often have horrible nightmares of snakes being fried alive and served to people in a restaurant. *shudder*

18. I think your dreams may have more symbolism about
the American populace than about vegetarianism. Perhaps in dream #1 the chickens are soulless, ignorant suburbanites who live in identical houses, eating McDonald's shopping at Walmart, while the specter of world war is apparent in the vat of oil. #2: the giant chickesn represent mainstream media and white house spokesman, spewin scary fear mongering propaganda at you, while you, being informed, run away. #3. The doves represent the systematic and ritualistic way in which the peace movement is dismantled and made irrelevant. #4: you are afraid of becoming like GW (pretzel association) and Laura (pickles association) and identify them with acts of public shame, such as nosepicking. Alternatively, you are afraid of them and this is manifested by the primordial fear we have of pulling strange alien objects from our orifices! AHH! that was fun.

20. Early this morning...
I had a dream that various groups were trying to win my favor because I had skills that were useful to them. However, I could sense that their motivation was not "benevolent".

There was a whole lot more to this dream that happened before this part, but I didn't write it down right away, and now it's just a faded memory. Back when I didn't work full-time, I used to be really good about keeping my dream journal up to date.

*sigh*

22. A weird WTC dream...
I guess I was moving to NYC, because I was following my parent's car (itself strange; my father's no longer alive and my mother is not in a condition to travel) in my own as we were delivering my stuff to the new place. We had to keep a cell-phone conversation running to keep from getting lost.

Anyway, we turn a corner, and there's the WTC. Still standing...sort of. It's like this was after 9/11, but the towers only collapsed part-way, and so they just cut them off at the floor where the collapse ended and started restoring that part of them. So one tower was maybe 50% of its original height, while the other was only 10-15 stories high. But it seems that, mid-way through the restoration (and after they were heavily painted with lemon-yellow primer), the money had run out and so they were just fenced-off and abandoned. Almost like buildings that were half-finished, then left to slowly decay.
