Update: My ultrasound from this morning |
|
I had my ultrasound this morning (...oh, and the jelly was warmed up), and the tech said she didn't see any swelling (enlargement) of my uterus. Just when I thought I was "out of the woods," so-to-speak, she goes, "Let me go ask the doctor...we may want to do the probe." Oh, man.... I told her that MY doctor had specifically said I was to come only for the ultrasound, but you know how it goes...they act like you're lying or something.
The funniest thing is before the procedure, she turned down the lights, and I said, "Where's the Barry White music?" She managed to crack a smile, but I don't think she was too amused. Geez...trying to break the ice here! The tech seemed to indicate that everything looked normal (boy, when they say probe, they mean it!?).
Thanks for your support last night everyone. I didn't sleep well and I was super nervous, but your words of kindness did help a lot.

1. As an expert in these things LOL |
|
They always use the probe. It's standard procedure in an ultrasound.

6. If the tech said everything looked OK, am I to assume she knows |
|
what she's talking about and she didn't miss anything? I'm a major worry wart as you can probably tell.

Reminds me of the line from "Naked Gun."
"Nice beaver...thanks, I just had it stuffed..." or something to that effect.
Thank you.

7. Thanks. I hope so. I got my husband up at the (as one of my friend |
|
says) "the ass-crack of dawn," so hopefully we'll both sleep pretty good. So many anal references (and other end) here!

10. Happy it all went well |
|
and it will be nothing if you have to do it again.
P.S. I liked your joke. The tech needs to lighten up.

14. I think the probe she was talking about may have been |
|
the vaginal probe. They use that to get a better picture if they can't get a good one through the stomach. Be glad, be very glad that was not the case...

My CT scan took all of 2 minutes, so I felt a little silly for even being apprehensive about it.
The biggest problem I had was when the tech told me I had to take my earrings out. They're permanent piercings (like body piercings, with captive beads in heavy gauge stainless steel), and when I tried to explain this to her, she just stared at me and then told me there was a mirror in the bathroom. I tried to force the beads out but they wouldn't budge, so I went back and told her my rings required jewelers pliers to remove and again got a completely incomprehensible stare. The other tech then said it was okay to leave them in, after I had managed to yank one of the screw-off bead rings out (which I will probably never be able to get back in).
:eyes:
I've been enjoying telling everyone today that I finally got my head examined. ;)
