Some strange questioning going on at DU (What's up with that?) |
|
WHAT IS UP WITH THE PERSONAL QUESTIONS?
Have we ever been convicted of a crime?
Are we communists?
Where were we born?
What High School did we attend?
What year did we graduate?
Have you ever had an operation and if you did when?
Where do you work?
Etc, Etc, Etc, etc.
I guess if we answered every question we could easily be identified and picked out in a crowd.

never, ever, ever respond to such polls.
I have it on good authority that this site is watched by the Authorities, if you catch my meaning.

3. I think people are just putting something up to talk about |
|
I don't see any harm in it. The other day somebody posted a question asking if you had a college degree. I thought it was interesting to see all the replies. We've got a lot of well educated people hanging out on DU.

there used to be more of those kinds of questions. Ever since the nine, make that ten, candidates for president (Democrats) started serious campaigning, we've been overwhelmed by threads bashing one candidate or another, rabidly supporting one candidate, and so on. In my opinion, most of those threads are a waste of my time, and I kind of missed those other, more personal ones.
As always, only post in a thread if you want to, or care about the topic.

5. Let Me Tell You About Me |
|
I enjoy driving 2002 Tuckers. As I drive eastbound, I enjoy watching a beautiful sunset. I drink Mint Coke. I post to DU using my Commodore PET computer. My favorite country singer is Kelly Osbourne. I want the Red Sox to play the Yankees in the World Series. I like swimming in Lake Superior. The salt water is refreshing. I rode a southbound train to Milwaukee yesterday. I can see the Mir Space Station using my backyard telescope. I can't stop listening to 10,000 KHz on my shortwave radio. I play my DVDs backwards to find hidden messages. I never have to dial "1" for long distance calls.
Those are pretty revealing clues, aren't they?

I use the bathroom at 7:30 am every day before I leave to class. When I get to class I use the bathroom again and during class I leave the room and I go to the bathroom again, when I leave College 5 hours later I use the bathroom before I leave and when I get home I go again.
I guess I am full of Shit!

10. Interesting you should bring that up |
|
I have not seen any personal questions, nor do I answer them, either. I'm sure there are a few "infiltrators" in heremaybe from the Repugs. I don't worry about it.
There's so much information at this site, that I can't live without it. And a place that's that good, is inevitably going to have a few "rotten apples". I used to be constantly furious about Bush and the news, and as luck would have it, I found the DU. It's my therapy.
As far as being "watched", at least we're doing something constructive here. There are a lot worse people & organizations out there. Besides, maybe they'll learn something.

11. I noticed it yesterday |

There was one question after another about things that people would find very personal.
I wouldn't stop coming here either. I have been here since this website was mentioned on c-span several years ago.

14. I think these questions are regular lounge topics. |
|
The lounge tends to operate in waves. One post leads to another, until the wave is spent, then on to something else until the tide comes back.
Whatever you do...do not, I repeat, do not, start a thread with the word "Yak."
Fair warning.
