Was it Elad, Earl G or Skinner who was on C-Spans phone line
Several years ago when they created this website?

If I wouldn't have been listening that day I might have not known about this website and I want to.

THANK YOU!

4. We should give Skinner a party
We should book hotel rooms, let people crash in our rooms if they don't have the funds to rent a room and have a large DU party for Skinner.

Does he know how much he has done for us?

5. Or better yet, a "DU Conference"
Skinner, of course, would be keynote speaker. William Pitt could speak, and many others. We could have workshops, make sure the press knows about it, etc. etc. Of course, many people per hotel room and a large party would still apply.

7. I think we SHOULD have a 'conference"
and major league party!!! Just take over a hotel somewhere for a weekend. It would be a blast, and we could get major press for DU at the same time!!!

I'm help organize something like that, but we'd need a committee to decide the specifics...

Let's DO it!!!

9. At the Inaugural weekend
Edited on Sun Sep-21-03 12:28 PM by Cheswick
I am telling you we could make a monster three day conference and several parties. We can have different speakers, not just our fabulous DUers but other people. For instance, how wonderful would it be to have Robert Byrd give an address on the importance of the Constitution? How great would it be to have a real kick ass feminist panel? How about Kucinich, Gore, Mosley Braun etc talking about single payer healthcare, telling us how it can work....giving us talking points? (that is assuming that none of them are the person getting sworn in).

How about a panel on race issues? How about a speaker on Labor issues?

Imagine the parties!! We could invite our congress critters and see if any of them show up. I am telling you we would be the best attraction and the most fun crowd in town.

We could invited other groups such as Democrats.com, Mediawhores online, and the National young Democrats to join us.

Planned Parenthood, PFAW, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the ACLU could all be sources for speakers.

12. Not quite a conference
but a bunch of us will be in D.C. the weekend of Oct. 25 to take part in a massive protest. We're planning evening get-togethers, marching together and hopefully getting a block of hotel rooms. Here's the thread. JOIN US!
