My freaky office mate is plagued by scorpions in her house. Holy fucking shit. I didn't think that would be a problem anywhere but the boondocks and the desert. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

I was with Gore Vidal. Yeah, that's it. We were discussing the Roman empire over Metaxa with ummmm ... Rose Marie. Yeah. That's the ticket.

Thankfully up here in the arctic north (Minnesota) the cold kills off the really scary insects.

...the...FUCK...OUT!!! One scorpion is scary enough. I can't even imagine an infestation. Those things are straight from hell. Freaky. Scary. Bizarre. Can you tell that I don't like them?

13. i hope she shakes out her shoes before she puts them on.. |
|
scorpions are notorious for climbing into shoes, amongst other dark places. My Aunt was once stung after putting on a shoe before checking it.
I never would have expected to find scorpions in the ATL.

(yes, even I said this) FU-UCK! at the top of my lungs (fortunately I don't work on a public floor).
Yep, you guessed it--I was stung by one.

16. Keeping in mind I DO live in Phoenix, Arizona... |
|
I lived in an apartment here once that I found out was teeming with them.
An exterminator told me that it's possible the previous tenants (hold onto your cookies here) RAISED them and because they didn't want to let the mangers know, didn't have the place sprayed when they moved out.
Creepy, I know; and I had just gotten pregnant when we moved in. UGH.
We ended up buying a blacklight for the house and patio; it makes them very easy to see.
In Arizona, the anti-venin is readily available; you might want to check if it is in your area since it may not be.

18. Apparently the exterminator told her that they're not too poisonous |
|
I guess the dangerous variety are out there in the desert. Anyway, he also told her that he doesn't have any poisons that will kill them, and he offered to put out traps.
If that were my house, I'd be writing this from the nearest Comfort Inn. I told her to burn the place down for the insurance money and hope they all die in the fire. YECH!
