What is your favorite winter drink?
In college, a boyfriend of mine used to buy packets of Chocolate Mint Hot Cocoa, make that, and then put in some Peppermint Schnapps. Best damn hot cocoa I ever had.

I love eggnog (though not too much of it), hot spiced teas, hot spiced apple cider, Gluvein (I know I spelled that wrong. It's a fruity German wine that you heat up and drink....mmmmm!!) and the Shnapps hot cocoa I described above.

You?

7. Speaking of Jaeger.... I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago, and they'd
never heard of the "Jaeger-bomber" shots.... is this a midwestern regional thing? It's Jaeger and Red-Bull. Heaven.

Hey, this is 300 for me!! MILESTONE!! WOO HOO!!

29. You've convinced me to try Bailey's again. I never liked it, but I
also try liver every 7 yrs. or so and I have never ever liked it. (I'm just being a shit).

I'll try it tomorrow. I'll pick up a small bottle of Bailey's and a BIG bottle of Kahlua, 'cause I know I'll like the big bottle!

I don't know why it happens, but when I cook a lot in preparation for holidays I start adding Grand Marnier to recipes that don't even call for it.

I love going to German Christmas markets because of all the food and drink. There's nothing like getting drunk outside in freezing temperatures! :toast:

35. I had a German Housemate who made Gluhwein
It made the house smell so good. I love mulled wine. I like eggnog ( just a little) and all those great winter brews as well.

32. Glühwein - agreed
Albeit not the Christmas fair kind - I can't stand sweetened wine (with the possible exception of the Adlon's new year's eve ice bar wine).

Just good, but simple red wine, heated and one of these:

36. Eggnog with Coffee....
Yes, a bit does well in a cup of hot coffee.

But it's better cold--Houston isn't exactly chilly all winter. Mix some strong, chilled coffee with cold eggnog--start with a 50/50 ratio & experiment. The coffee cuts the richness; flavored coffee is an option. Alcohol is also an option, but almost excessive.

Moderation is suggested unless you're in need of gaining lots of weight in a hurry.

39. Wassail
It's made with cider, lemon juice, a little bit of orange juice, and spices. Some kind of liquor can go in it too but it's fine either way.

I think the English used to make it with beer in white maple bowls and wander around town banging on people's doors and demanding money. And then they poured the leftovers on the roots of fruit trees.
