It's a powerful day when you stop smoking. When you have your last cig. Even if it's only for a while. It's the hardest substance to dump for most people.

MINE have not gone away. I still get cravings, and a couple months ago, physically, I was ready to go back. But I just think of and remember how a nicotine hangover felt, what it was like to hock up the green stuff every morning, and any thought of the momentary pleasure it might bring fades.

Someone in a reply below said THEY do go away, because hers have. It depends on the depth of the addiction.

My mom smoked through her pregnancy. My mom and dad smoked in the house in the car. I was born and raised addicted. I started first hand smoking when I was twelve. I had bronchitis most of my life, until I stopped.

I stopped once for four years and went back to it for 15 or so. Now it's been 8.

Really. Make a self-spanker if ya have to!

59. I had no idea skinner needed an operation.!! Sadly most of my excess

is already taken. We own a travel based business and got about 30 grand in debt after 9/11, back down to about 8000 now and hopefully will be completely done in 1 year. We'lll be saving about 6 grand a year on the sugar rats (pet demon name for 'em). Gotta go lend a new quitter some encouragement now as well. Fight the power stop smoking!
