Did I abuse my children?

I told my kids that unless they brushed their teeth and went to bed they'd turn into Republicans. They brushed their teeth and went to bed, but was my threat child abuse?

They seemed a little upset about being Republicans.

6. Well, my oldest is ten.

My wife and I felt it was our responsibility, given the dangers and the diseases and all of that stuff, to explain what Republicans were. Actually my wife sort of blurted it out when I wasn't home, but I had to support her decision to explain it.

At some point the kids just have to know.

My little guy is five. I think his older brother may have explained to him what being a Republican is. He seems aware that it's kind of dirty and disgusting, but I hope he doesn't know the gory details.

By the way, we'd never let our kids watch George Bush on television. We do have family values, you know.

I told mine about kissing your elbow. If whe was successful that she could turn into a boy. I said its a well known fact etc.

WE all laughed she tried to kiss her elbow, I tried to kiss mine.

I said.. here kiss my elbow.. so she did.. then a moment later I said her feel this and had her touch the single wild hair that grows from my chin. (its embarrassing but it does grow there)..

At the very moment she touched that hair, I said, oh my looks like its starting to work.. She screamed... OH NO OH NO>> kiss it again.. QUICK!

Kids are a hoot.

People who kill people to steal their oil in order to drive Hummers seemed like enough of a description. Still, I think they got the general idea from hearing my wife and I talk, as discreet as we tried to be, during the election season.
