Well, up to a point. When Linus starts preaching, and the kids start their freakball singing, it always made me gag. I preferred the Grinch anyday! (and still do)

when I can catch it. I love the music and have the Vince Guaraldi soundtrack album, which gets played a lot at Christmastime.

I read an article once that said that CBS expected this Christmas special to be a complete flop when it was originally broadcast in the 60s. They didn't think the TV audience would like the children's voices (up to then, cartoons used the voices of adults pretending to be children) and the jazz music. They expected to show it once and never again. Instead, it turned out to be the most popular Christmas special of all time, or close to it.
