meat-by-product fast food regardless of the malnutrition content. Last time I was at White Castle they had something called "Chicken Rings" which were really good too...

OK, other than the frozen food section, but it's not the same at all. I know; we tried.

We live in TX, but they are done in most places, or are they?
And if not, where?

33. not nearly as often as i once did...
it seems to me that i gave them up as a habit about the same time i gave up alcohol...(i didn't have a problem with booze, but i developed a condition that requires me to take narcotic medication a couple times a day, and the liver can't take too much of both substances)...I started having them occasionally, and now i'm down to sporadically...

they really are disgusting.

8. Yeah, yeah ...
I have to wait about four months, until I forget about the abdominal cramps, then I can usually let the Mr. talk me into it again.

They're all over the place, here, though. Some of them are co-located with Popeye's Chicken, in case the Sliders don't provide your RDA of hydrogenated grease.

15. Oh I love them
on September 4th (my best friends birthday) I got up at 6.00 am to drive almost 40 miles each way just to get her some white castles for her 75 birthday. She is crippled after unsuccessful hip surgery , followed by a heart attack and complications from diabetes that has crippled her hands. for 2 years when had planned a trip to her favorite old country restaurant. Our Best in Smithfield Ky, and since that is impossible due to her now being confined to a nursing home I had to do the next best thing. She was elated!!! I wish that I had some of those sliders now........lol:party:

17. They're only east of the Mississippi, I think
...but we do have them in MN, most of which is technically west of the mighty mississsip.

Each White Castle is corporate-owned, as they don't have franchises. It's also a family business, IIRC, so if they don't have a relative in town, there's no White Castle-- unless a relative moves there.

Haven't had them in quite a while, but they really do the trick at about 4:00 AM in the morning.

I have an Irish friend, who even though he hasn't been in the US now for 10 years, absolutely loves them.

The company is supposed to be really good to their employees as well. I remember the people working there used to wear badges that said how long they worked for White Castle's and some of the women would be there for 20 years or more.

Yesterday a friend of mine and I were out shopping and I noticed the White Castle at 95th & Cicero in Oak Lawn, IL now takes credit cards. I was like WTF?

No White Castles west of the Mississippi.

There used to be one about two miles from where my husband and I lived in a suburb of St. Paul, and occasionally we'd get a craving and go get a sackful. My dad had a craving for them once in a while too.
