9. Tony Clifton!
I grew up in Florida and remember Andy Hardy on the "old" Channel 13 Pulse News. Sadly it's now a Fox station.

:hi:

7. I still believe the best way to understand that song is to be on the sea
I did sailtraining when I was 13....ovber two weeks at seas is nothing and I can really get the song. But, I saw a mutiny when I was aboard.

I mentioned this on another Brian Wilson themed thread, but it bears repeating as this is a wonderful concert available free for streaming.

13. No, dumbass,
we COME on the Sloop John B. Or in the brandy, aboard the Good Ship Venus. But be careful with that, 'cuz if yer found out, they'll crush your cock on a jagged rock.

Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 12:21 AM by starroute
Broke up the people's trunk
Constable had to come and take him away
Sheriff Johnstone
Please let me alone
I feel so break-up, I want to go home

(Hey, some of us still have The Weavers' Songbook sitting around for ready access.)

(But what the heck is the people's trunk, anyway?)

19. The Weavers are fine, but give me the Beach Boys!
Sloop John B
The Beach Boys
Words Music: Trad. - Arr. Brian Wilson

We come on the sloop John B
My grandfather and me
Around Nassau town we did roam
Drinking all night
Got into a fight
Well I feel so broke up
I want to go home

So hoist up the John B's sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the Captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up
I wanna go home

The first mate he got drunk
And broke in the Cap'n's trunk
The constable had to come and take him away
Sheriff John Stone
Why don't you leave me alone, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up I wanna go home

So hoist up the John B's sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the Captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, let me go home
Why don't you let me go home
(Hoist up the John B's sail)
Hoist up the John B
I feel so broke up I wanna go home
Let me go home

The poor cook he caught the fits
And threw away all my grits
And then he took and he ate up all of my corn
Let me go home
Why don't they let me go home
This is the worst trip I've ever been on

So hoist up the John B's sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the Captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, let me go home
Why don't you let me go home

20. I love that song, but..
"Threw away all my grits"?

And "ate up all of my corn"?

Somehow I don't think that's the original language.
