1. I despise songs that try to turn War into something Noble
War is about Humans being ripped apart by unyielding steel...

2. I agree....but what make me more disgusted
Is when those who died are dishonoured.

However...in my opinion WW2 was a war...maybe the ONLY war that we had to fight in.

Still, the battle of new orleans, or whatever it's called, it's pretty good.

18. "Where the beavers wouldn't go"?
It's "where the rabbits wouldn't go".

Beavers fearlessly go anywhere they please. You should know that.

4. Waitaminute-- the US didn't get involved in WWII until December 1941
...and he says "In MAY of 1941 the war had just begun"

So, in May of '41, the war had technically "just begun" 21 months before-- at least in Europe. The war in the Pacific began as early as 1931, if you go by the start of Japanese military aggression.

Sorry to nitpick, but history is history.

5. Maybe he meant "just" in the sense of geological time
but I doubt that's what he meant. :-)

7. Now you've really gone too far.
This man gave us:

we filled his head with cannonballs and powdered his behind
and when we set the powder off the gator lost his mind

God, I loved that man.

14. Oh Okay!
So he sang a song about the Bismarck fighting the Redcoats in May 1941, and then another song about the Battle of New Orleans against the same Redcoats in May 1841? When the war was actually long over?

I think I'm beginning to see things more clearly...Thanks :)

I think I'll pop in my video of U-571 and watch how the Americans broke the German intelligence code in WW2...
