26. Manhattan / New England refers to a style of chowder |
|
Manhattan / New England refers to a style of chowder, not where the ingredients come from.
A cream based clam chowder, even if made with all WA products and sold right at the Ballard Market it's a New England Clam Chowder.

11. I remember way way back (1970s) our family always |
|
look forward to "Clam Chowder Night" at our local Howard Johnsons'. To me it should always be done in white sauce (New England Style). Well duh. Why do they call the other Manhattan anyway? Cute story?

Hah! I am glad to be in the majority for once! I tried Manhattan Clam Chowder one time and thought it was pretty bad. What's with the tomatoes?

16. is this a subtle freeper test |
|
is this some weird freeper trap? They'd so freak at voting for anything having to do with Massachusetts that they'd out themselves picking Manhattan??

New England, that's who. The chowder sold at Fenway, Gillette, and wherever else N.Y. teams are losing!

24. I have the BEST NE clam chowder recipe |
|
It's called "creamy clam chowder", and it is an artery clogging ectasy in a soup pot. It uses tons of butter, and heavy cream and lots of clams and potatoes, yummy! Great with a big California chardonnay.
