That was a major part of the first 3 episodes, and then it was dropped. Also, do you think it's a dinousaur, a psychic phenomenon, or something else? Damn, I'm riveted.

It appears to be parodying many classics (in the serious, West Side Story or Apocolypse Now-type of parody): Lord of the Flies, that campy Land of the Lost show, the Shining, etc. Pretty smartly written.

I've been watching from the beginning and this thought just crossed my mind after last night episode. All the "survivors" dreams, fears, wants, desires seem to come true for that individual.
