Is there a doctor in the house |
|
My mom's experiencing stabbing pains in her right side that go away when she lies down. When she's sitting, she says it feels like someone's jabbing her with a hot poker right beneath the lower ribs.
She had her gallbladder removed a long time ago, and it doesn't seem to be in the right place for an appendix, any armchair doctors out there have an idea what it could be?
(BTW she'll be going to the hospital tomorrow if the pain doesn't go away, so no worries about her not getting treatment)

"Then the most common symptom is an intense, colicky pain that may fluctuate in intensity over periods of 5 to 15 minutes. The pain usually starts in your back or your side just below the edge of your ribs."
That's exactly what she's experiencing, and since she's diabetic it makes sense that it would be kidney stones.

4. I have had gall stones |

and I have given birth (naturally at home) twice. I had a small kidney stone. Guess which hurt the worst? You got it - get that poor woman some morphine.
