5. I love
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 03:33 AM by Rumba
The sensuous lovelorn feel of a hot rumba with a beautiful woman who knows how to dance

The flying-over-hills feeling of a beautiful waltz

The joyous hip-pulsing rhythm of samba

The legs-intertwined sexuality of tango

The party-in-the-street that is a fast salsa

The gliding in air sensation of foxtrot

The sweaty rock and roll of a good swing dance

The party-on-the-dance-floor that is a great chacha

The innocent beauty that brings a smile to my partner's face when we connect in nightclub 2-step

The smooth coolness of west coast swing

The speeding-cars-on-the-highway feeling of hustle

The staccato exhilaration of quickstep

The whirling straight-line dervish of viennese waltz

The expression on my partner's face when we dance a sexually charged emotion laden bolero, falling in love for the duration of a song, and parting knowing that we created something that sings briefly of beauty and loss, that only the two of us have shared

That may sound like more than one thing, but it's all just my way of explaining why I love to dance.

13. So many things...
My girlfriend
The fresh smell after rain has fallen on a hot summer's day
Beautiful red roses
Staying in bed on really cold mornings
A really good argument or debate

15. So many things, besides the obvious ones
... like my GF, my kids, friends and relatives, music or books.

- I love the good feel when a demanding job has been finished.
- I love to ride my bicycle. Through a summer rain, or through autumn mist. I love the struggle to reach a high pass, and then riding down very fast the other side.
- I love to set up my tent somewhere deep in the woods, and listen to the birds jubliation early in the morning.
- I love to share a good meal, after I prepared it with care and from good products
- I love travelling, new places and people, learning foreign languages.
- I love to photograph beautiful and most common things.
- I love to admire works of art, masterpieces of workmanship, nature, the faces of people that are ALIVE.
- I love to help and console people that are down or sick.
- I love to explore my inner and outer realities and limits

... and sooo much more

Actually, I had/have a very intense time thinking about love or what I love because my mother is very ill. Everyone, doctors included, saw only very, very slim chances she might survive. So I just have spent some long days and nights at her bed, trying to help her and my father any way I could, and trying to accept she would not be with us anymore very soon and much too early. Contrary to everyones expectations and the doctors prognosis, she is slowly recovering now. Not out of danger, yet, but having fair chances of survival.

Looking straight at death makes me cherish my live and what I really love much more.

You know, it's so easy for me to tell people I love them. I've never felt that it takes anything away from me to tell people. My family, my friends, lovers, random people on the internet, apparently. ;-)

He guarded it like a precious jewel. God forbid he should love someone. What the fuck else is life for, if not to love? I don't understand.

18. LIBRARIES
I once saw a therapist and she had me imagine a "safe place" I though of a big old library full of old books, sitting in a huge comfy leather chair with a nice soft footrest. She later said I was the first patient she ever had that didn't imagine sitting next to a stream or a pond, or on a beach, or someplace by a tree...

29. Oh, yes! And bookstores, especially used bookstores.
I can relate to your post. There is something so comforting, so warm and wonderful in roomsful of old books. Old books are like old friends waiting to be discovered. There's nothing like the sights and smells among old books.

23. I love my husband...
beyond anything I can describe with words.

My kids.

Walking in the fallen leaves in the fall and hearing them crunch under my feet.

Sitting on my back porch and watching the deer and fox come up close to the house (we live in the woods).

Listening to a hard rain shower.

The first snow.

Snow balls (the kind you eat, not the kind you throw).

Maryland steamed crabs.

28. I love sitting near the Christmas tree, curled up under
one of my mother's homemade quilts, sipping on a hot coffee (or, if I'm feeling indulgent, an egg nog latte), and just kind of basking in the glow of the lights. I also love lying underneath the tree with my kids, seeing in their faces how magical they believe it is to look up and get lost in the branches, the lights and the ornaments.

I love a good piece of homemade lefse, still warm, spread with real butter and sprinkled with sugar.

I love baking holiday treats and adding new recipes to the tried-and-true. I always wind up baking far more than we need or could use, so I also love packaging up cookie varieties to give to my friends and send to my family.

Off the Christmas theme, I love the first feel of warm sun in the spring or early summer, when it's finally warm enough to go outside in short sleeves. There's nothing quite like that golden warmth on my arms.

I love the smell of the grass after the first mowing in the spring.

I love the feel of "the burn" running through my muscles after a good, solid workout.

I love a rich, full, dark coffee.

I love looking into the eyes of my children.

I love the satisfaction at completing a story that I think rocks out loud. I love even more when that story gets read and appreciated.

I love office supply stores and all the rows and rows of pens, pencils, notebooks, papers, markers, paper clips, and on and on. When I was a child, I'd rather go to an office supply store than a toy store.

I love real typewriters (and I wish I knew where to get a ribbon for mine).

I love Minnesota.

I love that my son looks JUST like my husband.

I could go on and on, but whoever has read this far is probably having sugar overload by now.

30. Raindrops on roses
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 09:51 AM by ET Awful

And whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles,
And warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages,
Tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Cream colored ponies,
An' crisp apple strudels,
Doorbells an' sleigh bells,
An' schnitzel with noodles,
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Girls in white dresses,
With blue satin sashes,
Snow flakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters,
That melt into springs,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feelin' sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad . . .

Roses....hmmm kittens...
Kettles.......mittens....
La dee da, la dee da,
La dee da, da,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feelin' sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And little by little my heavy heart sings . . .

And then I don't feel so bad . . .

. . .

Sorry, had a Rodgers and Hammerstein moment :)
