Those DUers are anti-american and I don't mean that in the Ann Coulter definition of the term. To actually root for your soldiers to be defeated, thus meaning killed in large numbers, is disgusting.

I am not really rooting for anyone, the US Army is not a football team. I value human life as all the same, I am not rooting for US Soldiers to be killed but I am also not rooting for Iraqi soldiers to get killed either. Maybe that is anti-american then so be it, the fact that I am an American doesn't make me more valuable then some kid in India imo.

19. If they are equally important as you say
then you would not support a US defeat in Iraq. That would mean many US casualties. If life to you is equally important then you would support a end to the war.

If this is the case then we have no problem with you. Carlos and I are spekaing of those that seem to cheer when something horrible happens to US service men and women. Big difference.

I'd like some specific examples of those who cheer about soldiers getting killed. Seems these two get on their high horse anytime someone criticizes the military campaign, as if one can't criticize policy without condemning the policy tools.

It's patently obvious, to me, that the criticism is targeting the policy not the soliders, but these two DU'ers refuse to read carefully enough to notice that.

I have no problem at all with those that criticize policy being that I was against this damn war from the start. I told everyone that wuld listen that this war was being entered without a solid exit plan and that the result of this war would not help the US in any way. In fact it would only cause more problems.

As for the specific examples I will not provide names as I know for certain that you have seen the posts of which I speak. You and others have seen threads where "Iraqi freedom fighters" are applauded for resisting (killing) the evil Americans so please don't play dumb.

Should no one have spoken up when we invaded Nicaragua a century ago for the sake of United Fruit?

Should no one have spoken up when we went to war with Spain to get Cuba and the Phillipines?

Should no one have spoken up when we went to war with Native Americans to break our treaties and steal their lands?

Should no German have spoken up when they invaded Poland?

Should no Japanese have spoken up when they invaded Manchuria?

Should we not now speak up at another illegal, immoral, and imperialistic war?

Speaking out against such an outrage is the strongest support of our troops-- who sacrifice to defend us, not make profits for Exxon and Halliburton.

I stand by what I said...and my husband is in Iraq. I do not support the invasion of Iraq.

The blood of Iraqi and American alike is on Bush' head...and America can't keep invading and taking what it wants from others...not without paying an awful price...and that price is everyone's blood BUT the loud-mouth blowhard armchair rangers and south lawn fighter-pilots who couldn't do my husband's job in their Walter Mitty wet dreams. I wasn't the one who wanted this folly
I wasn't the one who lied to put soldiers in harms way

I have no deisre to lose the war in Iraq. I have no desire to be in Iraq at all.

I have especially no desire to lose the ignored war on terrorism, which the US has all but withdrawn from so that we could attack Iraq under it's guise.

Right wing venom is ripping the country apart. The rift is there because they couldn't handle losing to Clinton. They can't win on issues, so they turn the dialog into a professional wrestling shouting match in order to win the hearts and mionds of the ignorant.

I assume that the accuser would also accuse George Washington of being "unpatriotic." After all THAT GW was also against the policies and the government of HIS time, as were Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.

Also, these right-wingers accusing DUers of being anti American have an extremely flimsy foundation on which to stand...THEY and their kind spent EIGHT years calling Bill Clinton everything but a human being. They worked endlessly against his government. I don't recall they or their leaders supporting actions in Kosovo or Somalia. As a matter of fact Clinton was roundly criticized for those wars.

Oh the double standard!
