Is the Pathethique Sonata not the most beautiful piece of music ever? |
|
Particularly the second movement...just perfect...

1. The Waldstein runs a close second but, the Pathetique is truly... |
|
...beautiful beyond words.

5. the moonlight sonata now gets my vote IF it's the entire piece |
|
not just the vastly overplayed first movement.
the third movement is a masterpiece, but one must have phnomenal dexterity to play it even remotely competently.
sadly it is vastly out of my own grasp...

Chopin's Barcarolle Op. 60 and Berceuse Op. 57 are for me.
Followed closely by Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus.
As for the most perfect, there is only one: the Brandenburgs.

6. Adagio for Strings, Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallus |

Romeo and Juliet... all very nice. The list is almost endless. Does it not depend on what kind of mood you are in?

in the very early days of midi. my piano skills are sadly deficient, but i played 4 measures at a time into my sequencer and then painstakingly doctored it on the computer, note by note, until it was a finely crafted perfection.
it was a fun summer project, and i presented it to my mother at her 50th birthday bash. she was STUNNED when i told her i did it myself, and unfortunately quite disappointed that i "cheated".
sigh, some people just don't understand....
