I saw the worst thing today ( Cat Lovers Please Beware ) |
|
While on the road today I saw a cat laying by the side of the road , I assumed it was just sleeping but not on this busy street . Sadly it was dead - I felt so bad when I saw it - it was full grown , black and white with orange paws ... It stayed on my mind all day ... unfortunately no one gives a care when something like this happens so before heading back home I went home , got my shovel and buried it in the ground in the woods ... I could not stand to see it laying there when I drove by again . I hope the cat is in kitty heaven resting well ... sigh ...

4. Even though I'm not a cat lover |

I'd probably do the same thing, and I have only with a rabbit and she had babies and one of them was hurt pretty bad, so I took them to the wildlife sanctuary and they took care of them and sent me a post card to let me know if the hurt one survived and it did and then let them go in the woods.

A few years ago when I was in college, I was driving home from the library late at night and saw a black cat lying in the road. I stopped and picked it up--poor thing was still warm. I buried it near my duplex.

That was a very kind thing to do. For some reason it made me remember the time years ago when I saw a kitty lying dead by the side of the New Jersey Turnpike  We couldn't stop as traffic was just too horrendous. Made me want to get rid of the turnpike.

Myself and the other cat servants here are in your debt :).
You did a good thing, and for that you get a  and a smile :)

While someone will be wondering whatever happened to their cat, if push ever came to shove I'm absolutely sure that they would take great comfort in knowing that someone went out of their way to bury their cat instead of it being picked up by the local sanitation services and dropped in a landfill somewhere.
