1. 16 Years ago I was 23
My now X wife and I had 2 kids, Simpsons was new, and during the years with her we watched the simpsons, X-files, and picket fences.

The simpsons lasted longer than my 1st marriage (10 years) :)

8. Me, too! I was also 23, fresh out of college, and in my first
place away from home. A friend and I from elementary school were sharing a house, and we had everything we needed - a fridge of beer, liquor, and Sunday nights of Simpsons, Married with Children, Herman's Head, and one other show I can't remember the name of.

It was a magical time!

11. What was with the savaging of Herman's Head?
Admittedly, I was only in high school at the time, and had no fridge full of beer, but I thought it was hilarious. Even the Lisa Simpson made joke at the expense of Herman's Head!

2. My wife and I got married just before the first episode.
It's very weird to have had the Simpsons as a constant in our lives for so long.

3. It will be weird when it finally *does* end.
For one thing, I'll no longer have a reason to own a TV.

7. Me too
I remember so distincly going to watch it when it started during my sophomore year in college with friends. And, I've kept watching, and watching. I used to tape every episode, but gave up a few years ago since I figured they'd eventually come out with it all on DVD. Still funny to watch my tapes from 1990 or so, especially with the commericals & network promos.

13. I asked my students if they werwe familiar with The Simpsons
The other day, I asked my students if they werwe familiar with "The Simpsons," as I have many Simpsons-related plans for them next semester.

The best answer was, "Of course, Mister" -- all of the kids call all of the teachers either Mister or Miss, what I am told is a Latino thing -- "the Simpsons has been on since before we were born, and even so it's STILL our favorite show!"
