My hubby is also a musician, has a singing voice very similar to Shannon's, and looks nearly identical to him (at least in the two pictures above, especially the first one-- the resemblance is just uncanny).

Shannon died in New Orleans on his tour bus in the parking lot of Tipitina's. Heroin overdose. Such a waste. I miss Blind Melon :cry:

What I can't understand is why didn't someone notice that something was wrong with him. Was Shannon asleep in the back of the bus with the door closed or was he in one of the bunks? Did the bunk have a curtain or a door? Someone should have been getting on and off of the bus unless it happened rather quickly.

46. From what I understand...

When the tour bus got to New Orleans, they parked at the venue and everyone got off the bus and went to the French Quarter to party. Shannon went back to the bus alone at some point during the night, shot himself up with heroin, and they found him the next day. He had been dead for several hours by the time they found him. :0(

i have 4 rescued cats myself. 2 from the shelter, one rescued feral, and one who was going to be surrendered eventually because of humans allergies. ugh

thanks for loving animals so much. i just bought my brother a spay and neuter certificate because he found a stray cat at his place. he wasnt going to get around to doing that but he is now!

one of the reasons i love du so much is their shared love and care for all animals!

The night we met, on a halloween party this year. It's going really well so far!



He's 6'5" btw... I'm 5'10" and wearing 4" heels that night. And no, I don't NORMALLY wear a corset.

50. The Princess and I Met at a Halloween Dance, Too!!!!

It was a dance for plus-size people and their admirers that was held in Saddle Brook, NJ back in October of 1991.

My avatar is a picture of me taken that night, in my Robin Hood costume. I was walking across the room and I heard a female voice say, "Hey, Robin!! Where are your Merry Men?"

I turned as saw the Princess sitting there. The first thing that I noticed were her eyes. We spent the rest of the night together, and I began to like the rest of her. :loveya:

Within a few days were talking on the phone every night. (We were living about 40 miles apart at the time, and shortly after we met my Ford Escort died and I was without a car for a few months.) We had our first official "date" on New Year's Eve 1991, and we've been together ever since - first as boyfriend and girlfriend, and now as husband and wife.

I'm very active in the BBW community (I'm a model), and go to the dances when I can. My BF and I live about 130 miles apart (2 hour drive on the freeway), so can only see each other on weekends. If it gets any more serious, i will find another job up and move up there. But for now the commuting is OK.

The funny thing about us is we were BOTH supposed to meet other people at the dance that night, but neither of them showed. Their loss was our gain, definitely!
