Why does everyone here hate the GD forums?

Just curious. Since we're all Democrats here (I think) then why do people here talk in derogatory terms about people on GD and Politics? I go on here and both of those and no one has hurt me any.

I post there quite a bit, am a rational person, but also happen to support a candidate that not a lot of certain types of people cared for...hence flamewars. Glad your experience has been different catbert, but you cannot deny the flamewars that rage there. It appears you have been successful in avoiding them. :toast:

But the Dean people are a vocal and bullying crowd in GD, and if you express "a differing opinion" of him, you will get flamed in all sorts of ways. They literally whine their way into changing DU's rules to suit them. And even then, that is not enough.

I am immune to flames and Deanies... but my problem with GD isn't whiny and pouty Dean people, just the tinfoilers and other wackos who give new life to the term "Loony Left". Face it, the left and right both have wackos, and they are really no different when you place them side by side.

GD sucks, because the "intelligent" threads sink faster than you can say "BBV! BBV!".

GD has always sucked goose eggs. Hide-a-thread and ignore gets a good work out these days.

By the way, MrsGrumpy IS rational and nice, and NOT one of the Dean supporters I was labeling... I wanted to clarify. If more Dean people were like her, GD would be more tolerable by a thousandfold.

17. It's just rough over there right now

There was quite a lot of optimism and a feeling of everyone being in this together prior to the election - now it seems that so much of that feeling has broken down and there's so much petty bickering and division that it gives me a headache.

That's certainly not always true and it's not true of every thread. But usually when I go over there, I don't find a lot of threads that seem to have any kind of productive or constructive ideas or thoughts. Most of them are pretty hysterical, I find. And I can't deal with that right now.

in GD Politics they're arguing over the best way to kill every member of the DLC. :argh:
