Jaguar or Lexus
How do I possibly choose! Should I just get one of each and keep the one my partner doesn't want?

1. I like the little jaguar on the hood of the car.
Knowing nothing at all about either, except that they're expensive.

My vote is for the one with the cute leaping jaguar.

:)

3. Jaguar. No question. I just think the Lexus is a boring car
No style to it whatsoever. Why spent 40K for something that looks like a beige box? I don't see the appeal.

At least Jaguar has a history.

Myself, I'm looking for a good used Audi.

5. Oh Lexus, definitely

Jaguars spend half of their lives in the shop. Lexuses are far more reliable.

On edit: if you know how to fix a car, Jaguars are much nicer.

9. Jaguar's quality has gone way downhill
Ever since they got bought out by Ford.

16. The takeover was the best thing to happen to Jaguar in 30 years.
I've had two: a 1985 Sovereign, and a 1997 XK8. The difference in finish, performance, reliability, and overall quality can't be compared.

The Ford-designed 4.0 aluminium V8 is an incredibly relaiable an efficient performance motor. That and the all-new 5-speed auto tranny (which is actually mfgd by Mercedes) make the new Jags excellent vehicles, plus the design and finish are well above the Jags of 20 years ago.

6. Go with the Jag!
I bought a post-tekeover model (an XK8), and it was a wonderful car. Sonce Ford took over, they've completely replaced the historically poor elements to Jaguars (electrical, etc) and brought in a whole new design team to rebuild the marque.

That Jaguar was probably the best and one of the most reliable (!) vehicles I've ever owned, and the customer service can't be beat.

Had to sell it to subsidise my divorce, though :( . But I can see owning another one one day.

11. Lexus for sure
Jags are great...when they're running. If you can afford to keep one on the road, you're a richer man than I by far.

My dad fixed Jaguars for many years and made a wonderful living at it. He drove a Lexus E330.
