God, cats can be such brats.... |
|
My neighbor's cat, who has free run of my house, is almost 18 years old and has cancer. She's dying. Probably has a few more weeks.
She's also incontinent. However, she's VERY good about only peeing on my bathroom floor, so it's easy to clean up. I like the old girl so much, I don't begrudge her this "problem".
Just now, I was in the bathroom. MY cat Polly, who is NOT a friend of my neighbor's cat, a 14 year old female, comes in, sits in front of me and looks directly at me, then walks out. Then I notice the giant puddle of urine on the floor.
The little brat was SO blatant about it! grrrr
A couple months ago I brought home a new kitten. The next day, Polly shit in my bedroom slippers.
I love Polly to death, but god, she's got a spiteful nature.

Neighbor's cats visit on a regular basis, sort of like playdates.:D And I wouldn't begrudge the old kitty having accidents, either. I agree, Polly is being spiteful. Darn cat.;-)

and she WAITED 'til I was in the bathroom, came in and looked directly at me. I was even talking to her! "Hey Polly! How you feelin' today?" stuff like that.
She wanted to make SURE I saw her do it. Brat!

If she got in trouble for it, she'd be all huffy that sthe old kitty is getting preferential treatment. It was a power trip, pure and simple, a way of forcing your hand! That brat!

...(actually kittens) are feral. They showed up one day at our weekend cabin in West Virginia, we fed them and they've been here ever since. They're always here when we drive up Fri. evening and they live under our deck. They are really cute (what kitten isn't), and one crawls onto my lap after eating, and purrs like a steam engine. But they are outside cats and someday they will grow up and leave, and I'll be very sad, and will miss them, but I just don't want to deal with an indoor cat anymore. They can be very sly and spiteful.

16. You think they will leave? Not a chance. You are their feeding |
|
ground from now till they die. Sorry. Cats do not just go away when they get older unless you quit feeding them. They will go away for a month and return with 5 more cats...ad infinitum!!

9. Just so I don't miss it... |
|
... my cat walks up to me, bumps my shin and THEN walks away and sits down with his back to me. If he didn't do that, I might not see that he's ignoring me--- the ultimate punishment that his feline mind can conceive. :P

Yes, Polly does that to me, too.
Especially after I've gone out of town for a few days. She'll bump me, then turn her back to me and sit down. She also does it to the neighbor's cat. Walks RIGHT in front of her, turns her back and sits down.
This is more than ignoring. It's a deliberate snub.

When my cat's pissed off at me (pretty much a permanent state of affairs) she sits on any nearby flat surface, at eye level, facing the opposite direction, even if this is uncomfortable or boring.
Often, it's the living room couch, facing the blank wall.
*sigh* whatever makes her day.

I'm fairly tolerant of my cats' foibles, but I don't think even *I* would let them use the whole house as a litterbox.
My neighbor's cat is old and sick and senile, and Polly was just bein' a little shit. But peeing on the floor is the EXCEPTION here, not the rule!

23. Well, they do have several litter boxes, and I do clean up after them |
|
It's just that I've minimized the damage. Now they wet, and I just get the chlorox out.
To me it was simple. They can't be trained. I can't get rid of them. So I had to buy a house they couldn't hurt.

When we were moving out of our apartment, Mr. Kitty, who evidently doesn't much like having his routine interrupted :eyes:, pissed on our bed.
Three times.
With us in it.

22. This scenario sounds very familiar |
|
I have a 23 year old grey, white and orange (only on the belly) tabby tom, and his favorite tactic is to wait until I have gone to work. Then he goes into the bathroom and drops a load on the bathmat in front of the toilet, carefully pulling the corners of the mat over the evidence. In his warped cat brain, he actually thinks that I am going to walk into the darkened bathroom and step in his 'contribution'. It is his way of expressing his displeasure with something I have done (like bringing in two new abandoned cats for adoption-he doesn't like competition). I love my cats, but they are sneaky about paybacks.

I have only had him since 1996, when his then owner slammed him into a fence in our joint yard and left him for dead. Great guy! (sarcasm). The cat eventually revived and decided that the guy in the back house was OK(me). He sweated out my Master's thesis with me, and is now encouraging me to finish my dissertation. I got him three companions (actually, my wife brought two with her).

26. We had a psycho white cat... |
|
my sister named Madeline. My dad tried to kill her three or four times. She shot at her, and he ended up shooting half her tail off...then he dropped her off the bridge with her dead kittens she wouldn't feed, and she just landed on the bank and looked up at him. She would not go away. Finally we thought she had left for good... so we got a beautiful giant orange tom cat I named D'Artanian. One day out in the middle of the garden, they're going at it, and Madeline is winning. I go out, yank her off, and we never saw the orange cat again. God, I hated her... I've never had an indoor cat...but I wish I did. But the BF is allergic. Duckie

The cat had taken over the hallway blocking the way to the bathroom, so I told her she was a good kitty and petted her and she started puring like mad so I scratch her back a whole lot and then walked away.
I got half way down the hall and she came tearing down the hall and bit my ankles. Twice.
