Have you ever had an out of body experience? |
|
I did. It was preceded by a lucid dream and then I found myself staring at the ceiling from just a few inches away. Also, my jaw felt pressured and I heard a buzzing sound in my head.
Weird.

2. I had them all the time as a small child . |
|
And I still have them sometimes . I used to be afraid whenever I had them but now that I have learned more about them I have learned to just relax when this happen and not to panic .

4. I can only remember one as a small child |

When I was in my twenties, I had a lot of them but only a few were peaceful.
Do those experiences prove to you the existence of the soul or spirit, apart from the human body?

And mine were peaceful as well ... and I think that was because when I was a child and when I had them , I was in tune with my intutive mind and also with nature - and once I turned 19 I got back in touch with these sides of me that I did not pay any attention to for some years ... and then all of a sudden , I had the dreams again .
I don't really know if it proves to me the existence of the soul or spirit because its too deep for me to comprehend ... But all I know is that whenever it happens , I am at total " peace " - a peace that I have never felt ( ok sometimes only when I am around certain people ) in the concious world ( and whenever I feel this certain peace around certain people , this makes me wonder too ) , and when I wake up , my body feels tired as though I have " traveled " . There was topic about this in the Meeting Room forum where other people shared their experiences as well .

You called them "dreams." I have struggled with whether or not some of the experiences I have had are dreams, because in a few of them I found myself totally, 100%, conscious and away from my body, unlike the "dream" state.
Freaky.

11. They are called " lucid dreams " ... |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 03:53 AM by CarolinaPeridot
But to me whenever I experienced them , they felt very REAL . I can't explain it . But to me these experiences are real . I keep this to myself because if I was tell all of the different dreams ( some of which have come true ) , you would call the asylum and have me commited ASAP .

13. Don't worry, you're sane |
|
I know exactly what you are describing. It is a dream that is totally real, emotionally and visually. I have no doubt they can contain facts otherwise unknown and precognition. You might be gifted.
I've had a few of those lucid dreams. But when it is a 100% out of body experience, I'm conscious and totally aware that I am dreaming and away from my body, if that makes any sense. Just my interpretation of mostly unexplainable events.
Your input is enlightening and educational. :)

A friend of mine had a place with isolation tanks that were brilliant,no closed in feeling and the water was perfect. i had done one years before and freaked out in 5 minutes, but these were great you could stay in for an hour and not realize it.

My husband has countless times, and often feels himself reentering is body as he awakens. He's usually exhausted afterwards. Had a friend once who did it all the time, and used to go to her kids rooms, and neighbors houses, so she said.

I contracted ARDS (Accute Repistory Distress Syndrom) and I was out of it for about 20 days. During that time I was experiencing a life so vivid and real that I swear I was transported from my hospital bed into the world outside.....

I had a WILD - wake induced lucid dream. That is, I remained conscious as I fell asleep.
It was the weirdest feeling as I felt my physical body lying on the couch and my astral body walking down the street. When I became lucid in the dream I started flying around and all that fun stuff.
I was THIS close to having a real OOBE once but snapped back to my body. I heard what sounded like a gunshot very close to my head as I did.
With my WILD yesterday, I'm back into this LD/OOBE stuff. I hope I can actually do it this time!

17. And you can learn how on the internet |
|
Try your search with "astral projection." Lots of stuff out there but be careful and use your instincts. Some may steer you the wrong way. Me, I don't want to mess with it. Kinda scares me that I might not make it back. It's hard enough to stay "grounded" as it is!

I received the books by Robert Monroe as a gift, and having nothing better to do, I practiced the techniques in the back of the book. 2 weeks later, I did it.
It must've been beginners luck, because I've only done it a few times since my lucky first OOBE.
My first one happened in May of 2002, and it was really fucking cool (but also kinda scary). It felt good to be free of physical constraints, though. Flying was easier than walking. :)
I wish I could do it consistently, but I'll probably have to wait until I'm unemployed again so that I can practice. (Either that, or find work that isn't spiritually crushing :P ).

18. Ive studied LD/OOBE/Astral projections since I was 17, its not |
|
like riding a bike, its more like playing chess with yourself. Easy to go out of practice and forget some moves....
With practice over the years you can become very adept at it. LD/OOBE experiences an be extremely powerful creative tools, seriously powerful. Apllication of will during these experiences also helps to form nonlinear thinking habits, which can have an incredible effect on your problem solving faculties.
It takes a long time but if you stick to it and really devote yourself, you'll be very very glad you did.
