4. Minnesota.
It doesn't just border on the Mississippi, it's where it originates. More importantly, it's a true-Blue state and the home of Paul Wellstone and Gene McCarthy (yeah, I know -- Norm Coleman, too, :puke:). But still -- lots of liberals still live here.

7. But Norm was a dick even when he was still a Democrat.
He's an opportunist, period. Only reason he switched over is that the Dems didn't want him to be their senate candidate in 1996. Norm is a totally unprincipled weasel.

8. no doubt
I met Coleman at a silent auction fundraiser thingy and he was a dick. Not really shocking or news but thought I'd throw that out there.

14. Wisconsin
Russ Feingold and Bob LaFollette. And yeah, we've also had to deal with Joe McCarthy and Tommy Thompson, but we also get to claim Vince Lombardi and Brett Favre.

12. Mighty MO!
who cares if we're red, we're better than Ill-annoy, Looserana, Wis-CON-sin, Mini-soda, Kin-fucky, anystate with the name "Kansas" in it, and especially Tenne(can't)see. Damn sport of the GOP right along with golf.

And go ahead w the "Misery" jokes.
And I know this is pretty lame. But I love my state.

13. Illinois, no question.
Not a swing state. Solidly blue and getting bluer by the day.

You've got your choice of a massive world renowned metropolis like Chicago, or vast stretches of rural land.

Honestly, what more could you want?

15. So your choices are overcrowded streets nearly impossible to
drive on, or what seems like 9000 miles of continuous corn?

And I remind you, you STILL have the Cubs.

and that the Cardies are loooooooooosers, BYE BYE BIRDIES!

our time will come sooner or later. ;)

And the win is so much sweeter when you've had to work for it.

20. Especially compared to Cambridge and Boston, the roads are wide
and there's hardly any traffic in Chicago! It just took me a half an hour to go from Alewife to Inman Square. That's 2.3 miles. :-(
