NYC/Theatre Folks: Democracy by Michael Frayn |
|
Have any of you had the chance to see Michael Frayn's "Democracy?" It's a play about former chancellor Willy Brandt, his servant who is an East German spy, and issues relating to German politics in the late 1960s/early 1970s. I've read wonderful reviews in the NYT and London papers. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen it and what their personal reactions were.

I'll be in NYC this coming weekend but I have tickets to Eve Ensler's "The Good Body."

That's too bad! All the reviews I've read say something like, "East German political maneuvering and the implications of Ostpolitik seem like very boring themes, but 'Democracy' keeps you on the edge of your seat--literally."
Sounds intense.
