1. Why both?
Be careful mixing drugs like that.

7. Yeah I know.
Doc gave me Xanax last week because I'm so distraught from having my precious little dog, Sonic, put down. He had been so so sick.

I got his ashes today and I've cried so much my head was pounding so I took a percocet for my headache. I am also hoping I will finally get a little sleep tonight.

I miss my little boy so much, and the nights are the hardest.

19. His birthday is the 13th of this month. He would have been 13.
I got him when he was 8 weeks old and he was a loyal constant companion.

41. I hope you had prepared yourself for it to happen...
considering his age. Again, if I was in your shoes with my dog I probably would have strong emotions about the loss even though it was time. I got mine 2 years ago this past Friday when she was 9 months old. She gives a little more to my life that I had not had. But I believe that my girl has a stronger attachment to me than me to her. She gets so excited WHENEVER I return even if it is just a half hour. She doesn't show that towards my son or anyone else. Most everyone else she is extremely shy. Hopefully, I don't go before she does because she might have a more difficult time than I would.

25. Tthank you. Getting his ashes today really hurt. I guess it made it
more real. When the vet's office called today they said: "Mrs. yadayada, Sonic was just dropped off and you can come pick him up anytime."

I know their intention was to honor Sonic, but it was surreal to me. Like he had been at camp or something and was now back so come and get him.

When my husband came through the door with the box of his ashes I just lost it.

40. Oh my, I do know how you feel...
When we lost our Annie (cocker spaniel) after 13 years I was devastated. I didn't think anyone understood and started to doubt my own sanity. I cried for 3 or 4 days and slept holding on to her blanket. I was a stay at home mom and she followed me everywhere I went in the house. My family thought I was losing it.

We only went about 3 weeks and just couldn't bear not having a dog in the house so we went to a rescue and got a Golden Retriever - it was the best thing we ever did.

Take your time, don't let anyone tell you that you are crazy - grief over a pet is REAL grief!!! Day by day it will get a little better. It took a while before I could go down in the yard to Annie's grave without crying so hard, but little by little it got easier to deal with.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

18. ambien will make you sleep
but it is a hypnotic (spelling?)

a few times i have taken it and sat down to watch tv. my partner had to put me to bed. i don't remember a thing. he also said i groped him, which is pretty normal.

you sleep well, even dream. but if you take it a couple nights in a row then you have trouble getting to sleep the third night.

still it is good to use when you really need it, as you do now. it is very important that you be able to sleep. it will help the grieving process, and allow you to start to come to grips with the situation.

again, good luck.

21. I have taken Ambien before. It is a good sleeping pill. I asked my
doctor for some but she told me to see if the Xanax helped me be able to sleep and if not to call her.

I think I will call her tomorrow. I do need some sleep. Even after I manage to fall asleep I wake up all night long.

At least my precious Sonic is resting in peace now.

Just kidding as well. :) And I'm so sorry about your loss. Growing up, I had a cat who was my age - and she died when we were both 21. It was very hard.

I hope you feel better .. but it sounds like you're on the right track!

39. They gave me a prescription of percocet
after I gave birth to my son. I'm not sure what the big deal is about this drug. The pill was supposed to help with pain. I didn't really have much pain that I couldn't bear anyhow, but it didn't seem to do anything for me. I stopped taking after about three days because it didn't seem to help.

17. The doctor gave me Xanax XR. It is extended release so
it is supposed to stay in your system longer and keep the panic/anxiety from overwhelming me.

It hasn't really helped, but taking the percocet for my headache has seemed to give me the relief I am seeking.
