I am thrilled! You'll never guess why.

Well, the reason is....

My wife and I traded bedrooms with the kids. It took all day, but I changed all the furniture and cut our queen size loft bed down to a regular size bed.

I used to have my desk under the loft bed and had to work all day basically in a cave, then sleeping was like sleeping in the giant birds nest atop some mountain peak.

No more bird nest! No more cave!

We were able to make the space work, and now, BOTH rooms are a thousand times more livable. Now I can look out the window at the flowers in the backyard while I work, the kids' room has more play space, and room for their computer and a desk for them to do their homework. I wish I had set it up this way when we moved here six months ago.

It's amazing how refreshing changing the furniture around can be.

1. Furniture...
...placement can be hard to get right the first time. I had something similar happen when I moved. I'm glad you like your new settings! :)

2. First day working in my new room-office.
It's beautiful, clean, and organized.

...and I have nothing to do!

4. It's almost like having a new home
My house is so tiny there are few options for change. I love living in a place where I can re-arrange. I used to live in a large old rambling farmhouse and I'd switch bedrooms and living rooms and dining rooms and kids rooms - change is good. It can be very exhilerating. Glad you're enjoying it.

5. Hey, I have a tiny 2 bedroom apartment. Probably less than 1000 Sq. ft.
But the arrangement just works better this way.

One room is longer and narrower, and the other is more squarish. Also, there are very odd ledges around the bottoms of the walls that are hard to work with. I have to either perch the furniture atop the ledges, or have the furniture a foot away from the walls. I engineered a way to perch the furniture on the ledges by using wood pieces to hold up the outer sides of the furniture.

Because of the odd layout of the apartment, it was hard, but the new arrangement is 1000 times better.
