2. Worked for me

A friend was sending me every RW urban legend he could find. I sent him two links to snopes (actually in "reply to all" format) and mysteriously, I haven't gotten another.....snicker, snicker, snicker

When you sent it to everyone.. You basicly told his whole list he was to stupid to do research before spaming.

Works pretty good. LOL!

A really tacky thing to do is.. Copy their "send to" list and using a e-mail addy that your friend doesn't know.. start sending them factual information every once and a while. He/she would never know it was you.

I figure we either help educate some of them or hurt their feelings to the point that they take us off their pester list.

Now, help me work out a way to deal with those @(#@&!@)&#)_(%^ computer telemarketing calls the US Congress decided can be placed to those on the No Call list. I still haven't figured out a way to offend computers.

My FIL kept sending me NRA crap and other b.s. emails, but I kept correcting him with Snopes. Always polite, and always with an expression of appreciating his viewpoint.

Now he just sends the emails to my husband.

8. I've Noticed The Same Thing

Especially when I use the "Reply to All" button so everyone knows how stupid they are.

The best one was when a co-worker who regularly wears his "Knights of Columbus" jacket to work and has a "Pray the Rosary" bumper sticker hanging up in his cubicle sent around something that blamed the flu vaccine shortage on a lawsuit filed by John Edwards. This is what I send back via "Reply to All",:

You should really check these things before spreading them. After all, what's that Commandment about "bearing false witness"???
