Deputy Fired For Urinating In Parking Garage Elevator

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An Orange County sheriff's deputy has been fired after being caught on camera in a public elevator relieving himself. Deputy Carl Brown, 40, was videotaped urinating in a public parking garage elevator while still in uniform.

At first, Brown didn't know he was on camera, being watched in a public elevator. As soon as the elevator door closed, he urinated in one corner and even sighed in relief. Later, before the deputy walked out of the parking garage elevator in downtown Orlando, he realized he may have been caught on tape.

First, Brown moved the surveillance camera, apparently to try and distort the view. A short time later, he left while staring and wondering if he had been taped.

When the stench got bad, people complained. They didn't know who was doing it, so the manager decided to put in the surveillance camera. That manager decided not to prosecute for the damage, leaving punishment up to the sheriff's office.

An internal investigation shows Brown admitted to urinating in the garage an estimated five times. Deputy Brown stated he "did not want to urinate in public" and recently had a medical "urgency to urinate" and "could not wait 15 to 20 seconds to exit the elevator."
