My left ear is stopped up and driving me crazy! |
|
I've tried everything. When it first started, I could pop it by wiggling my finger in my ear and stretching my jaw. Then it started taking longer. I have tried washing it out really good, didn't work. Someone suggested hydrogen peroxide and Q-tips. I just tried that. It is still stopped up. I would go ahead and scream but it would just echo in my head and drive me even more crazy. What can I do?

I'm drinking Diet Coke instead of water. Is that OK? And why were you screaming at me with the caps lock?

I just hit the key and was too lazy to go back and fix it.
No the diet coke won't work as well as the water. I don't want to get too technical but trust me, the more water you drink the easier it'll be to clear that congestion up.

I'll try the nasty city water and see if that helps. Why can't water taste like Dr. Pepper and have no calories?

tiny hole in the drum. The only thing that helps me is keep it totally dry - no swimming, no peroxide and careful in the shower.

5. Don't ignore it, go see an ENT |
|
I had the same problem as you, ignored it mostly, ended up w/permanent hearing loss via Menieres Disease - not fun.
Go directly to an ENT, if possible.

if it lasts for several days an ear doctor might be a good idea. You could have an ear infection. I used to get those when I was a kid. ugh Have you taken any sinus medicine to dry it up? Tylenol allergy sinus or sudafed might help. Or maybe its not serious and it will go away in a few hours?

if it is, any liquid sitting between the two will become infected. Go see your doctor.

12. Hey, you wanna fill me in on what happened with you? |
|
I saw your post in ATA. I looked around a bit and found a thread where you got heated about people bashing Mormons. Is that why you asked for your acount to be shut off? I, for one, am glad you're still here. :loveya:

get yourself to the nearest skyscraper and go up and down the express elevator repeatedly. You probably do need a ENT but in the interim that may help to relieve the pressure. In the future, because ear infections tend to be chronic, (I had them for years) Mullein oil and one twenty minute acupuncture session healed mine for good.
Good luck.

If you have any pain I suggest a visit tot he doctor. It happened to me once and it does make one nuts--sounds like one is in an echo chamber. I used an over the counter ear wax removal system- and after using it for a week, I gently irrigated with warm water and a drop of dish detergent using the little baby syringe that came with the kit and it worked. The wax that came out from the irrigation was evident.
