I think that I am an oxymoron. Are you?

While I was on my way to class this morning (a 23 mile commute through the nothingness of western Kansas), I got to thinking...
All the stereotypes and names associated with certain stereotypes seems to make me an oxymoron...
I am a country music, small-town loving, redneck hick, liberal, pagan.
For some reason lots of people seem to think that these can't go hand in hand (especially that redneck/liberal part).

Are you an oxymoron too?

I'm a white, hetero, union guy living in an upscale republican neighborhood and I still vote democrat even though my party sold us out to the corporations 10 years ago with NAFTA.

Think of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour - Larry the Cable says so many things that apply to me and my husband, it is so funny.
I own my own shotgun, and deer/phesant are regulars at the dinner table.
My dream place to live is the Ozarks.
I USED to use chewing tobacco - I'd be a Copenhagen Angel if I still did lol
We don't have a house or a car up on blocks, but my husband makes mobile homes.
I love demo derbys
My dream vehicle is a big Chevy silverado 4.4 crew cab (with a fancy paint job, kick ass stereo and a gun rack).
Our idea of a fancy evening is dinner at Applebee's and drinking at the local country bar.

Ya, I'm pretty sure we're both rednecks, but that's ok!

10. As I said it might be an exaggeration to call me a redneck

I actually fall right in the middle of the cultural divide. I'm "trailer-trash" to be honest, but its not something I go bragging about. It's mostly my income bracket that puts me right in the middle of red America.
I consider the 9th and 10th amendments to be the most unfortunately ignored and I used to dream of becoming a constitutional lawyer so I could make fire and brimstone speeches. My political heroes are FDR, Thomas Jefferson, John Brown and Eugene Debs.
